It was just a joke, Mort. You could say I was being hyperbolic there. Not saying Sach is pretentious (although it definitely looks like I said it, sorry for that), just that he tends to overanalyze some stuff (at least here). Of course he has every right to his own opinion, I didn't say he was wrong, just that I disagree with him. For me the album is a guy fucking around or making a stupid joke (make folk shit) but ending up with near masterpiece, for Sach it seems to be more of a well-thought, precise masterwork. I just think there was more spontaneity, feeling and humor involved and much less planning and precision than Sach seems to think. Of course, again, it's just my opinion.
