Not talking about the album as a whole but that song specifically. Probably not his greatest album as a whole but that song is a masterpiece

Yeah very true. Weird how it's one of the more popular ones here as far as number of ratings go. Maybe because of the cool cover? Or maybe it used to have a review?

I don’t like the closer on this but the first 2 are quite strong

Wait sometimes the last 2 are switched around… I mean the weird boob holding song is that one I dislike

That's probably the best. Gentlemen is perfectly fine lyrically (one of my favourites) but the last 2 are incredible musically. And also, that proverb is amazing

Wait, listened to gentleman again just now and I am not sure about what I said about the music. Perfection!

Nice picks too, and from those same early '70s, seems to be his most-liked era.

They were so unapologetic and full of energy. Unfortunately, I really do believe his mother's death knocked the wind out of his sails a little.

I'm not sure how you possibly pick somewhere to start with this guy, but here I began my (hopefully) epic journey and a good time was had

Demon YESSS!!! Good idea. I'd say all of his early 70s work is worth it, especially those in the Open & Close-Excuse O stretch.
Alagbon Close might be my fave Fela, Shakara is amazing as well. But you can't go wrong with that period anyway.
