I'm really just not a big fan of this type of tech death. I mean some of it is alright, but yeah.
But I trust you so if you say it's worth jamming then I believe you hard. m/

Band's been boring since The Negation.

I personally don't get the flak their later discography gets. especially everything up to Organic. it's solid tech death chunk without all the fucking tweedle dees from the staler parts of the genre. all their material, even some of carnival and this, is solid. good riffs and decent songwriting.
+1
Hawks please put Colored Sands back in it's case and dig into some fuckin' meaty riffs.

I went through their whole discography including this one. While it's not tech as the preceding ones, I think Decapitated sounds more confident than ever. The songwriting feels pretty well thought-out with nothing short of impact. To me, it's a totally welcome direction they took.

i'd say i was disappointed with this album, but that would imply an expectation of it being good. they chose the shitty vocalist route a long time ago, and vogg's riff bank is nearly, if not already, bankrupt. the almost complete lack of guitar, and metal in general, on the new lux occulta sort of confirmed that for me. now that was a disappointment, though the album isn't terrible.

I knew you would pop your head in here Grimlin.
I thought nihility was pretty boring
"Spheres of Madness" is like the quintessential tech-death song.

Have to agree that after Winds of Creation it was all downhill. The best anyone has to say for them is that it's "solid". Vogg is legit, for sure, but he still put more good riffs into each song on the debut than on most of the records after that in their entirety. And lately, it's just so bland. There's such better tech-death out there - I'd rather have my weedle and deedles with some songwriting and decent vocals.

One of the worst I've heard this year

I feel like I'm the only one that enjoyed Organic Hallucinosis. That said this review was spot on, it's sad to hear this now compared to what these guys used to put out.
Even more sad is that my first comment is on this snooze of a record :/

Nope, so many riffs on that record.

Carnival is Forever was a beast.
Everything up until this was a beast.
This is, however, their first lapse as far as I'm concerned

Pretty disappointing release. Doesn't even sound like tech-death anymore.

Agreed. I'm surprised I liked that album as much as I did. Krimh's drumming made it more interesting than if they just got some other dm drummer.

Damn, dug this for a few days, but gotta drop it to a 3. Love the drumwork and guitars, but the vocals kill it at times and the songs sound a bit monotonous around the last few tracks. Not sure if I want to pick this up quite yet.
