Also lmao buttrock vocals. I guess because he does cleans w/ a little grit on them? Guy's technique/energy/lyrics all transcend buttrock, he's clearly not yarling enough.

My dog who got butt rock vocals out of this? Are they stupid?

idk guys if you can't easily hear the imagine dragons guy singing the sick and lavish chorus or the closer's verses... or the inverse, easily picture this guy being able to replace chad kroeger in nickelback idk what to tell you
these guys have a more capable vocalist than like 99% of bands who do this style. it's the band's secret sauce. dude has a butt rock voice its just a fact and i love this band

But that's also stating you can isolate Kroeger's vocals and say 'this is what makes Nickelback buttrock' but you'd be wrong. you could have Kroeger cover something by a less shitty band and have it be good/nonbutt easily. To say something has buttrock vocals is kind of inaccurate in and of itself unless they're the yarliest fuckin shit yarler of all time.
I can see how people would think it's adjacent but that whole 'being capable' thing erases a large portion of the butt, which also involves lyrics/the rest of the music anyway.

The last song could be a radio jam which is why I made the comparison. With metalcore, I am a traditionalist from growing up with older stuff but checked this out due to the high ratings. I think they are talented but those vocals and the mix did not stick with me. I see potential in the future for them to drop something I love

Another time I'm gonna suggest going to listen to an actual song on the radio to ground yourself because this aint that even remotely that lmao.
White Lighters and All Candy I could give but nothing on this EP is radio friendly lmao.

"nothing on this EP is radio friendly" I absolutely love this and love this band but are you kidding me lmao

I mean he kinda right tho. No mathcore radio last I checked. I don’t even really hear standard vanilla metalcore on the radio unless it is like all clean but maybe I’m looking in the wrong places
|
| |
I've heard Rolo Tomassi on the radio before, they're supposed to be mathcore or adjacent aren't they? I dunno I think the buttrock comment (which I don't hear but idk) has got people acting mighty silly on the defensive

this is just fine as an EP and doesn't need to be a second longer. really refreshing not to hear a band in this style overstay their welcome, LP snobbery from the days when no popular guitar bands were producing EPs worth shit can f off and expire

This is such a huge improvement over their last album goddamn.
