Review Summary: With a complex and unique melodic structure and insightful lyrics, Clomado's only release proves that slums can and DO generate great artists. Must hear.

Many slum boys dream of some day becoming a big artist, making lots of money and getting the respect from the rest of society, but with little to no support or advertising, most of them fail miserably. One of these boys was Clomado: a boy full of dreams, talent and stories from the forgotten corners of society.

Clomado is the father of Progressive Rio Funk. It is to Rio Funk what Progressive metal is to Metal. With a complex melodic structure, unlike any other Funk musician, he manages to be technically impressive and catchy at the same time. That strong combination should have immediately put him together with other great names of brazilian music. But as he lacked advertisement and support, it didn't.

His lyrics show very serious flaws of our society. For example, in the second track, Cria do Pinheiro, he tells the tales of him and his friends and how they create a strong militia to take care of his fellow citizens and defend his village from foreign drug lords. Like a WW2 veteran, he proudly sings about his military achievements in the Rio de Janeiro slums. He screams crime with pride. His other songs seem lirically similar to other great Rio Funk musicians, like Valesca Popozuda, speaking about free sex rights, and against standart morale values of society.

The problem with his only release is, it only got 6 songs, and two of them are covers. That leaves us wanting MOAR, but knowing we will never have it, since he stopped working as a musician.

... But I guess no album can be perfect, huh?
