4.0 excellent | Dwarrowly | August 11th 15 | Technically, few bands are able to convincingly trade vocals like these guys. The songs are rich in harmony, instrumentally challenging, and blend a number of genres into a unique cocktail of chamber-pop, folk, classical, and indie-rock. rAs regards songwriting, The Ancestor and Drowning Elvis are transportive and melancholic, while songs like The Company We Keep and Terrible Things are upbeat and jubilant. rI submit to you that this is a fantastic album, whether you enjoy indie rock, folk, or simply great music.
