Quality epic doom with progressive tendencies by guitarist Victor Arduini (ex-Fates Warning) and Argus vocalist Brian Balich. Arduini and Balich both shine with their performance and the songwriting which is influenced by the likes of Rainbow, Martin-era Black Sabbath and Solitude Aeturnus among others, is solid. The long duration of the songs and album make Dawn of Ages a somewhat demanding yet rewarding listen. ?Beyond the Barricade? is not only the longest track of the LP but a highlight as it feels shorter than the 17 minutes of its runtime.
