Signs of 'As it is' progressing musically. Still extremely boyish though. It might be fun at times but feeling 14 gets tiring after a few songs.At least they're starting to work towards more serious themes, evident in "Austen" - which quite frankly is the most above average or more than "okay" track on the record. These guys have loads of talent, but I don't like what they're doing with it. Unfortunately making the same song 10+ times does not make for a great album...

I mean it's better than their first album but the same general problem is still present. Catchy singles with a forgettable album. Though Soap surprised the hell oit of me.

OH HELL YES! This is AII on top of their game. Happy Pop-Punk, a touch of gloom, and some experimental stuff on this album. Pretty artistic work.

Totally generic pop punk. It sounds like a direct beta version of The Starting Line's debut album, but with a bit more pop.

I checked this out as I'd seen a few strong reviews stating that this album showed "breathtaking maturity" and huge progression from their previous work. Absolutely laughable in my opinion. There is slight progression from "Never Happy, Ever After", especially sonically, but any attempt As It Is have made to mature their sound on this record is massively hindered by Patty Walters' vocals. The other vocalist, Ben Langford-Biss, generally impresses in the songs that he features in, with the guitarist giving off a slight Charlie Simpson vibe at times. Walters' vocals hold this album back and it's only due to the massively watered down alternative scene of the current era, populated by the likes of 5 Seconds of Summer and Sleeping with Sirens, that will allow this album and band to be taken seriously as a pop-punk band.
