A showcase of the group's sensibilities as far as pop goes and their self-awareness as far as their impact on their fans, it's an album filled with strong, radio-ready singles but never quite establishes itself as more than that sonically or cohesively. Still, within its playing field, it sees BTS as a group that can keep the genre sounding fresh despite everyone in that industry clawing at the dead corpse of EDM. 'Outro: Her', and 'Intro: Serendipity' are particular standouts for their particular lack of said influence, while 'Dimple' is a strong, by-the-numbers pop love song flourishing in their harmonic skillset. 'Sea' is probably the most disappointing track, it could have been better if it did anything with it's instrumentation, but shows that there's an experimentation of influences brewing on their team.
