3.2 good | Voivod STAFF | July 2nd 18 | Tad Morose's 9th album Chapter X, is the closest the band has been to Central European power metal since Matters of the Dark; unlike the aforementioned predecessor though (a hidden gem for the genre), the new album suffers from the notable lack of standout songs. The thrashier moments are not completely wiped out, but they are sort of pushed in the corner, in terms of production sound and arrangements (which go through the motions, with regard to the previous two albums). Be that as it may, the album is enjoyable both in its own right, and in comparison to the few really good Europower metal releases that have seen the light of day during the last couple of years.
