Quite honestly, this album is one of the best pop-punk albums to come out to date. i highly recommend you get your hands on a copy of it even if pop-punk isnt your thing.
The first time i listened to Redemption - the fifth release (and second on American Kung Fu Records) by the Israeli punk combo, i thought i was listening to a Disney channel soundtrack. Though i must say upon listening to this record twice and then three times, the overall experience became well...soothing. Not in the way a cough drop soothes a sore throat, but in the way that it is pleasing to your ears (recommended after listening to *insert band sputnikmusic dislikes*)
I shan't go into a detailed analysis and review of each individual song, as treating each song individually would diminish the effect of the entire album. Much like fine cuisine, the whole meal cannot be judged on simply a taste. The entire dining experience should be taken into consideration.
The best way to describe this album is "fun". An honest album - it isn't pretentious (sorry to break it to you sputnikmusic). However it does not only excel in terms of composition and production but also in terms of the actual talent made apparent through each band member's contribution, not to mention the INSANE vocal harmonies of the entire band.
Yotam Ben-Horin's vocals are quite amazing to say the least. He has quite a large array of vocal qualities up his arsenal from smooth melodic pop-punk melody lines on songs such as "Before I go", to a harsh raspy timbre in songs such as redemption. Ishay Berger and Yonatan Harpak also boasts some nifty guitar work especially in "Everything turns to red". Both, Guy Carmel (Drums) and Yotam (Bass + Vocals) compliment each other in terms of the relationship between the drum and the bass, creating an extremely solid texture for the whole album. Ultimately, every track on this album is extremely clean, each musical layer complimenting the other to give Useless ID a sound of their own.
Quite honestly, this album is one of the best pop-punk albums to come out to date. Get your hands on a copy of it even if pop-punk isnt your thing - it WILL grow on you.
