The 1994 album from Bass virtuoso Michael Manring - "Thonk". Being a solo Bass Artist, it's rather suprising that this album was even concieved; Being more of a Fusion-Metal album, and having very experimental and Jazzy guitar riffage and drum work.
As you listen to this album, remember that this is essentially all about Michael Manring's Bass playing over, behind, and throughout the other instruments incorporated within this album, which, if you single out, STILL sounds absolutely fantastic - ESPECIALLY for this being from over 15 years ago.
The keys, drums, and guitar work in this album generally just serves as ambience to his expansive, wild, extensive, and exhaustless bass-skills. Which ends up being a good filler for the background in would-be otherwise boring parts.
