Review Summary: A live album that is good but not perfect. Indeed, it is a live album in that way.

one person did not think the yo mama joke was well written. Yo mama is irked by that.

This is a live album from the band Chimaira. You can expect lively played instruments that come alive. The screaming frontman is quite brutal within, and sounds even nastier than the original songs. In fact, the vocals are louder than the shrieking eels in The Princess Bride.

Chimaira’s brutality is pertinently felt, and quite nasty and quite not nice. Instruments are also played with the aggression that an ape displays when desiring to mate. It’s all you want from a live album, although there are hiccups. The bass is basically inaudible, and when you factor in that every instrument is pretty important, points are taken away. They will have to work harder to receive a candy reward or a free trip to the theater. This saddens me but consequences are important - so important.

Good thing the songs are catchy because certain distractions are quite awkward, which are awkwardly distracting. For example, when the frontman repeatedly yells, “Sing it!” and no one seems to sing in response, it is awkward. When the frontman is also growling like a caged demon all day long and then suddenly says something like, how are y’all doing? Let’s do this it’s more distracting than cool. On with the show damn it. Indeed, the frontman seems to forget that people listen to music to listen to bloody ***ing music. If I wanted to hear someone talk to an audience I’d go to a comedy night.

When all is said and further said, Chimaira slap and don’t apologize about it. They are skillful players whence live and the guitar has a chunky sound which is heavy like trying to lift yo mama. Fun times are had, and seeing them live must be a blast. It is a successful live album and an entertaining listen. With your purchase you also get a lovely DVD - ancient media, but still effective. This release may be better suited for fans but it’s enough to get a non-believer intrigued with the band.
