While many of their fellow 70s fusion greats were turning to sitcom-y elevator music around this time, Brand X instead upped the intensity and channeled elements of avant-garde and metal into their mix. Truly an underrated album, with smoldering performances all around (especially newly appointed drummer Frank Katz) and twist-filled highlights like Liquid Time, A Duck Exploding, and Church of Hype making the experience especially memorable throughout.
