Compilation albums, for me at least, always seem like cash grabs. Throw a bunch of hits together in new packaging and resell it and you profit. However, Genius has compiled not only Ray Charles’ hits, but also has made sure to cover just about every musical territory that Ray worked with. In 21 tracks, they have managed to capture the very essence of Ray Charles. Get this if you are looking to start getting into his work.
