Sudden Earth, a power pop/rock project that was active in local clubs and music festivals, and although critically acclaimed by their local media,
they - and their 5 song EP - were virtually unknown outside of the New York Metro area. In 2002, they reorganized into Dark Franklin with
Conkle taking on the role of lead vocals. Their lineup evolved over the first two albums but by their third CD, What Remains (2006), they
were considered to be a duo and would bring aboard session musicians as needed.
The earlier music from their first self-titled CD (Dark Franklin, 2002) was much more pop/light rock oriented and only became a little
darker during My Secret Life (2003). By 2006 and the release of What Remains, Conkle and Jablonsky have arrived back into the
gothic rock/darkwave genre that had been such a large influence during their formative musical years of the 1980's.
