This album was a major breakthrough hit, winning the Mercury Music Prize, and becomingarguably the defining album of the Britpop revival, including such acts as The Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, and, most recently, The Arctic Monkeys.Their second album, You Could Have It So Much Better, was released in the following year, and did not immediately recieve the same level of acclaim as its predecessor, althoughby the end of the year many respected music publications were including it in lists regarding the highlights of 2005 in music.Franz Ferdinand's third album, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand was released in January 2009.
