It was around the age of 19 when creating music won out over playing college sports and social life to become DJ
Unwind's most obsessive pastime. Over the years, as the Wisconsin bred musician honed his skills of first sampling then
eventually becoming self-taught and playing a variety of instruments, it became obvious that listening to his fathers
eclectic record collection growing up DJ Unwind would pursue his musical identity.

eventually becoming self-taught and playing a variety of instruments, it became obvious that listening to his fathers
eclectic record collection growing up DJ Unwind would pursue his musical identity.
Debuting as a producer in his own right with Truth Beyond the Beat, DJ Unwind's 2006 full-length, was independently
released. Gaining the attention from Libyus Music in Tokyo, a label known for distributing ambient, acid-jazz records, an
international distribution deal was soon to follow. More recently DJ Unwind produced singles for a variety of artists in the
Urban genre including a collaboration with Mateo from Interscope Records while still including his signature stamp, chill.
DJ Unwind has shaped out such a dynamic and mellow cinematic groove as he became more polished as a musician and
composer creating music he directly relates to traveling the globe, family and life. In his own theory, believing and
vocalizing, pop culture has influenced his style in the exact opposite way of the "brainwashed" in our modern society.
Feeling the need for many to experience a much more mellow and deeper side of life, this is only a implication at the
scope of things to come from the still-unknown impresario.
The world may now take in DJ Unwind's musical vision with Far From Here the EP, a unique concept album composed from
being "far from selfishness, politics, corruption, pop culture and materialism", as stated in his liner notes. DJ Unwind is still
active and eclectic in his collaborations with a mindset of "quality over quantity" from this day forward. His composing and
production efforts alone prove that he is a musical nonconformist who just may in the future lead the way for the rest.
