Recommended 2012

10 albums I've found (somewhat) recently that will be definitely be on my best of 2012 list. Recs for whatever genre would be greatly appreciated, but some more indie would be preferable. THANKS ALL, love you.
1Dephosphorus
Night Sky Transform

The favorite of my recent finds, this album is head over heels better than their debut in my opinion. While their sound is predominately grind, they do a fantastic job of incorporating black metal in short bursts. The variation gives this album an unpredictable nature, and with great riffs, great vocals and overall tight instrumentation, Night Sky Transform is a metal album you NEED to hear before the year is up.
2Salvation
House of the Beating Hell

I've had this for awhile but gave it a good twenty or so listens the past week and it just cemented the fact that Salvation is one of the best hardcore bands around these days. Following the direction that last years excellent Mortality Interaction, Salvation has moved away from the typical hardcore aesthetic opting for a more moody, dark, and atmospheric approach the melodies on this EP are very post-punk inspired making the record extremely haunting and memorable.
3 Undergang
Til Doden Os Skiller

Another album I've had for while but severely neglected, Til Doden Os Skiller is crusty as fuck death metal that is absolutely rifftastic.
4Athletics
Who You Are Is Not Enough

A great combination of post-rock and post-hardcore, Who You Are Is Not Enough brings the atmosphere, the build-ups and the resolutions, making it a very satisfying listen.
5Azoic
Gateways

It's no secret that I love blackened death metal, so when I came across I was very happy... and then when I listened to it, I went from six to fucking midnight. Really great album with a very unique chaotic sound with a tinge of progressive. Raw enough to please hardened fans but well written to coerce newcomers to the cause, this album is recommended to pretty much everyone.
6Capital Lights
Rhythm N Moves

Reforming after breaking upon the release of their catchy as shit debut This Is An Outrage!, Capital Lights came back swinging with Rhythm N Moves. More keyboard driven than their previous album, this album is just as catchy and the lyrics are as clever as ever. Faggots who are ashamed of admitting they like shit like this would call Rhythm N Moves a guilty pleasure but I refuse to deny how awesome I this power-pop five piece.
7Cornigr
Relics of Inner War

The past few years have produced some truly great black metal, and Cornigr if they continue on the path they started here, will definitely make name for themselves thanks to their fucking awesome atmospheric black metal.
8Tawny Peaks
Tawny Peaks

Tawny Peaks and their first self-titled album is really awesome and twinkly emo/indie. I've had the entire 8 song tracklist stuck in my head for a week and a half straight.
9Guidelines
S/T_EP

Guidelines are a screamo band from New Jersey who a few years ago released a a pretty good full-length, but I personally prefer this new EP more; the music is super energetic but the vocals in particular are what I enjoy most about this 4 song release.
10Ash Borer
Cold of Ages

I'm not ridiculous enamored with this as everyone else, but Ash Borer's second full-length is just another reminder of why they are considered one of the best black metal groups of today.
