Seriously i live in massachusetts, so when he says how he turned massachusetts around hes talking out of his ass, his health care plan is worse than obamas tenfold. He was pro-choice as governer, his vetos were overturned 99.2% (ill find the source cause i know that number seems outrageous).

09.02.12 | The way I see it, no one should have to pay taxes ideally, without there being accountability that we get our share of what those taxes provide us with. Which is definitely not the case, seeing as the middle class pays a ton of taxes and the poor pays none but the poor get more benefits. Instead of income taxes getting progressively higher, we should tax luxury items more, like plane tickets, expensive cars, trips, things like that which will only affect those that buy them (the wealthy). |
bach
09.02.12 | Obama will win. The only people who can relate to Romney are rich, pompus assholes and Rush Limbaugh. And maybe Glenn Beck. |

09.02.12 | True, if anything taxes need to just be much lower for the middle class. They're shrinking it, and definitely not towards the upper end. I'll probably vote for Obama this year because I have a feeling Republicans are gonna get wiped out of Congress and then the Dems will have a united President/Congress |

09.02.12 | So you lower taxes and how does that help the economy in any way? What we have to accept is the fact that the new generation will be the first one since the second world war to have it worst off than the generation before them, so I really dont see any reason to lower taxes. Instead of buying a a third car or a new ipod save the money so that when youre old and dying you can pay for your own medicine and not other peoples taxes. |

Personal beliefs can, in fact, be separate from political policy. That's kind of the point of libertarianism. Even if he would vote against those things on a state level, he doesn't believe it should be a federal issue. |

09.02.12 | "gonna play the devils advocate here
so its ok for a state to discriminate but not the federal government?"
quick answer: the more local the government, the more people have a say/can make a difference. Democracy isn't perfect, but if you can bring the decisions as close to the people as possible, you're better off.
I don't agree completely with most libertarians, because I believe the national constitution should have amendments to cover the personal liberties of all people specifically and it should overrule the states when it comes to personal freedoms. However, I believe the states/cities/counties should have more say in their fiscal responsibilities.

While I pretty much agree with the sentiment on a personal level, if everyone thinks that way and just gives up, we're going to end up completely fucked over in the end with little-to-no rights. It's easy to give up and roll over, but that just makes things worse. What we need is a surge of support for independent candidates via a campaign by regular people. Basically, a political revolution.
Not saying it will happen, though, because people are pretty lazy and complacent right now. |

09.03.12 | That entire point of a democracy is that no violent revolution is needed to change it.
If you want a revolution you have to make the average person be active, educated, and able to think critically. When the local police department kills another innocent person then the streets should be filled with thousands of angry citizens. When both parties agree to a bullshit war then people should vote out those people after rounds of protests.
But it doesn't happen. Even most people who vote aren't exactly educated. A good example would be the dumbasses who blame high gas prices on Obama, as if private corporations don't control the prices. |
