03.06.14 | ^Agreeing with this. They were in a time where dropping lots of drugs and coming out with crazy stuff was easier than it is now. Still, there are many bands pumping out records every year or every two years |

03.06.14 | one reason, among many, was the lack of touring. the beatles , for example, stopped touring in 1966. when you're not touring,
it gives you more time to dedicate to writing music. and because you don't have to worry about recreating your music in a live
setting, it allows you to expand on any and all ideas you might have, which is exactly what the beatles did beginning with sgt.

Trebor.
03.06.14 | Touring is way more important now, bands can barely afford to get off the road and record something new because they know they ain't gonna make shit for it |
Necrotica
03.06.14 | Let's all be like Buckethead and release at least 10 albums each year |

03.06.14 | and dont forget about classical music. where every fucking composer has thousands of works. thats because in the past they used to give more dedication to it and didnt really had much stuff to lose time to. so they could focus more on the writing process and stuff. ←[my thought] |

03.06.14 | Yeah but the "tours" back in them days consisted of 3 performances a day 300 odd days a year.
There's no way people would be able to do that now without suffering nervous exhaustion or some such soft shite.

03.06.14 | the most important reason is probably that in the past it was possible to make money as a musician, which naturally allowed musicians to devote more of their time to music. the bands you mention on this list were all extremely successful commercially, so music was a full-time pursuit. of course there are still musicians who do nothing but music today, but the machine has slowed down on the larger scale.
