some recent purchases
some stuff I've bought within the past couple weeks because why the fuck not. you might notice a bit of a stylistic theme going on for a lot of these.
1
Paradise Lost
The Plague Within
favorite album of the year so far.
2
Paradise Lost
Shades of God
one of the last I needed to complete my collection.
3
Dark Tranquillity
Projector
2009 reissue, also a collection-completer.
4
Baroness
Blue Record
I've been wanting to get this for a while. no idea why it took me so long.
5
Baroness
Yellow and Green
was disappointed when I first listened to this a long while back, so I put off getting it. actually enjoy it a lot more now.
6
High on Fire
Luminiferous
also one of my favorite albums of the year.
7
High on Fire
De Vermis Mysteriis
another album I should've owned way before now.
8
Kylesa
Ultraviolet
this album seems to have gotten a mixed reception around here and I can't say I agree. love the darker atmosphere on display.
9
Kylesa
Static Tensions
ordered yesterday.
10
Kylesa
Spiral Shadow
CD/DVD deluxe edition, also ordered yesterday.
11
Double Echo
Phantomime
bonus: downloaded this name-your-price album off Bandcamp last night. pretty solid gothic rock/post-punk that really captures the 80s vibes, even down to the production. only real complaint is that the vocals are pretty buried in the mix.

I listen to a lot of stuff besides metal but I've definitely been on a metal kick lately, yeah.
