Stay Waxy (Recent Vinyl Pick Ups)
What's good folks, Sputniks, Sputnimeyers, and so forth. What have you snagged on wax (or otherwise) as of late? Any cool records, reissues, and such I should keep an eye out for? |
1 | | Black Breath Sentenced To Life
Black. $3 in a bin at Exchange. No surface marring or warping? Go Exchange! Great rates! |
2 | | Avail Dixie
Black. Look-Out! pressing (Not sure if Asian Man repressed these when they acquired the goods after LO caved?). It was fairly cheap, and a great way to reminisce on my teen years in North Carolina. |
3 | | Open Mike Eagle A Special Episode Of
Trans. Red. Really digging on this one. He's such a lovable goofball. |
4 | | No Treating People Like They Don't Exist
Black. I was super surprised to find this floating around the shelves at Reckless. From a Spanish label, if I'm not mistaken? This longplay slays! Discordant hardcore that reminds me of the murkier moments of Void, but more atonal. |
5 | | Protomartyr The Agent Intellect
Opaque Dark Green Marbled. Definitely enjoying this one more than the last full-length. It may be my favourite post-punky record of 2015 (Thus far, anyways). |
6 | | Anathallo Canopy Glow
Black. I love the vocal interplay/harmonies flowing through this record. Maybe I'm just a super-sissy? |
7 | | Kamasi Washington The Epic
Black. Modern jazz and pretty rad. I'm no expert on Jhaazy-jhaz, so this may appeal to newcomers. I'm sure there are plenty of folks around these parts more acquainted with this broad genre. What are your thoughts on this record? The packaging on this is pretty neato too. |
