| My personal all-time favorite albums
I'll just put my favorite stuff here, from all kinds of genres. I'm always looking for more and new music, so feel free to suggest whatever you think I might like. It won't be particularly sorted from best to least best, there are exceptions though. Not complete yet, will work on it from time to time. | 1 | | Death Symbolic
This album introduced me to the band, the genre and the mastermind himself, Chuck Schuldiner. I can't put into words how I feel about this, any attempt so far sounded cheap. In its entirety, it's by far the most impressive record I've ever had the pleasure to listen to. | 2 | | Judas Priest Painkiller
On a quest for more favorite albums I came across Judas Priest. Robert Halford's vocals took some getting used to, but over time they really grew on me. I've never heard someone out-sing an electric guitar before. The lyrics are a little corny at times, but the listening experience and the flavor in pieces like Nightcrawler or Between the Hammer and the Anvil more than makes up for that. | 3 | | Death The Sound of Perseverance
Any Death album deserves a spot on this list, I do gravitate towards their later work though. Painkiller, regarding its content, background and context, is a particularly special and dear song to me. | 4 | | Rage Against the Machine Rage Against the Machine XX
Such a unique style and sound. A part of me still hopes for a reunion and a return to old glory, as unlikely it may be. | 5 | | Gustav Holst The Planets, Op. 32 | 6 | | In Flames Clayman
One of my earliest experiences with more extreme metal, if you want to call it that. Satellites and Astronauts is one of the first tracks that got me hooked up not only with the album and band, but also this section of metal in general. Probably one of my favorite tracks ever. | 7 | | Carpenter Brut Trilogy | 8 | | System of a Down Toxicity
These guys were my gateway to metal. I listened to their music during the second half of school, and occasionally still do. | 9 | | Muse Absolution
One of the first albums I bought. Didn't like a lot of it back then, now I do. | |
