| My Favorite 10 Eurythmics Songs
Two days ago I posted a review of the "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This Album)", and it was the first Eurythmics album reviewed on this site. This just won't do, people. So in order to hopefully get a few more people thinking about this classic '80s band I'm posting this list. The order is a little fuzzy. It's how I feel tonight, but it could be different by tomorrow morning. | 10 | Eurythmics Thorn in My Side
This one is almost a coin toss with "Missionary Man", but I think "Thorn in My Side" is just a little catchier. | 9 | No Fear, No Hate, No Pain (No Broken Hearts)
Again, kind of a coin toss as to whether to include this one or "Cool Blue" from the same album. I went with "No Fear ..." in remembrance of the amazing live version I saw them do of this song on the "Touch" tour at the Forest Hills Tennis Stadium in Queens, NY. | 8 | Julia
The "1984" album is a little uneven, but there are a few standout cuts, and this is one of them. | 7 | This City Never Sleeps
Although they were probably thinking about London when they wrote this song, it always feels to me like it captures some important things about New York. | 6 | Who's That Girl
This song should probably be higher on the list. Oh well. Maybe by tomorrow morning it will be. | 5 | There Must Be an Angel (Playing With My Heart)
Annie joins the choir fantastic. Heavenly. | 4 | Love Is a Stranger
As perfect a first few lines of lyric as you could ask for: "Love is a stranger/In an open car/To tempt you in/ And drive you far away". | 3 | Doubleplusgood
Annie Lennox as Big Brother's mouthpiece is exquisite. | 2 | Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)
The song that catapulted Eurythmics into the public spotlight, and deservedly so. | 1 | Here Comes the Rain Again
Beats out "Sweet Dreams" by a hair. At least it does tonight. | |

01.06.17 | Is it bad that I only know 2? | Divaman
01.06.17 | Well, at least you do know two, Ars. | Divaman
01.06.17 | Hmm. First time I ever checked the box for "songs" instead "albums" when creating a list, and I see that we lose the album art this way. I'd go back and change it, but I think I'd have to delete the whole damned thing and start again. Oh well. | SandwichBubble
01.06.17 | Don't think I could stomach a full album by this group, but I guess there's no harm in trying. Any specific album I should start with or should I just jump right in with "In The Garden?" | Flugmorph
01.06.17 | good band | TwigTW
01.06.17 | 1, 6, and 2 are my favorites (so predictable), but "The King And Queen Of America" and "When Tomorrow Comes" would be on my list too . . . I always thought it was ironic that Dave Stewart co-wrote "Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves." | NorthernSkylark
01.06.17 | I really really hate that band. Really. | wham49
01.06.17 | good band, but the top 2 songs are the same for everybody | Divaman
01.06.17 | Hi Sandwich. No, skip "In the Garden", then go back to it if you like what you hear. Start with either "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" or "Touch".
I almost put "Doubleplusgood" as my number 1, wham, but like I said, a lot of the positions for these songs are close for me. 1, 2 and 6 are certainly their best known songs. | bloc
01.06.17 | 1 is definitely the best | Titan
01.06.17 | agreed, great song | Jethro42
01.06.17 | Nice list man,
I've only listened to their greatest hits like 25 years ago. All I remember well are 1, 2 and 6 which are excellent. Will try some others from your list. | Dewinged
01.06.17 | Where's the Vampire one!!? Ah that's Annie solo right? :( | Divaman
01.06.17 | Not sure which one you mean, Winged. I can tell you the Lord of the Rings song "Into the West" is Annie solo. | Dewinged
01.06.17 | This one diva
