| Trying out bands we don't like, part 2
Continuation of the previous list. Rating out of 5, short 1-2 sentence review of highest rated Sput albums by bands we aren't fans of
DK = Duck_King, my coworker
Me = me, me | 1 | | Barenaked Ladies Gordon
DK: 2, There was one song on the album that didn't irritate me with zaniness.
Me: 2, Fuck these guys and their gigglesquee "lolrandumb" attitude | 2 | | Primus Frizzle Fry
DK: 4, Goofy and dirty. Fun to listen to.
Me: 4, Really enjoyed it, will probably never listen to another Primus album though. | 3 | | Nickelback Silver Side Up
DK: 2.5, I'd already heard all these songs way too many times on the radio.
Me: 2.5, Not as bad as I had thought, at best it was "okay" | 4 | | Daughtry Daughtry
DK: 1.5, Perfect example of why rock sucked in the 00's. Like off brand Nickelback.
Me: 1.5, Diet Nickelback, but the kind where the sugar substitute gives you mustard gas poisoning | 5 | | Theory of a Deadman Gasoline
DK: 2, First song was alright, rest sounded like a slightly edgier Nickelback.
Me: 2.5, Bland, safe radio rock with a slight grunge edge. Best thing we've listend to since Primus | 6 | | 3 Doors Down The Better Life
DK: 2.5, Was better than I anticipated, but nothing really stood out.
Me: 2.5, Considering I've only ever heard Kryptonite, this was pretty okay | 7 | | Hinder Extreme Behavior
DK: 2, Only 1 decent track that was the big hit, and it wasn't even that great.
Me: 2, Well produced, his voice is unique, but the songs sucked and were boring/bad | 8 | | Seether Disclaimer II
DK: 2.5, Started off decent, but really started to drag and it was just too long.
Me: 3, Better than I expected, I dig the singers voice. Instrumentals are weak and the songwritings not great | 9 | | Cold 13 Ways to Bleed On Stage
DK: 2.5, Sounded similar to Seether, with a little more variation. Still, I didn't really like it.
Me: 3, If I could give this a quarter rating, it'd be a 3.25. Definitely better than Seether | 10 | | Breaking Benjamin Phobia
DK: 2, Nothing outwardly bad, but it sounded like boiler-plate Nu-Metal, which I do not like.
Me: 3.5, Have listened to it plenty of times, guilty pleasure maybe? Don't care, rules. | 11 | | Coldplay A Rush of Blood to the Head
DK: 3.5, Didn't like the first half, including the hits, but I really liked Warning Sign, and it picked up from there.
Me: 3, Had a couple hits I recognized, very mellow/chill music. Will never listen again, but wasn't miserable. | 12 | | Silverchair Neon Ballroom
DK: 3.5, Sagged a bit in the middle, but a solid album.
Me: 3.5, Solid radio-grunge, wouldn't mind hearing songs off this again | 13 | | Oasis Definitely Maybe
DK: 3. First track was good, the rest was solid, but I don't care much for their vocals.
Me: 3.5, Still don't see the big deal about these guys, but it was good british invasion throwback | 14 | | Rage Against The Machine Rage Against The Machine
DK: 2.5, Never cared for RATM, and this album was just more of the same.
Me: 4, Started off thinking it was annoyingly edgy and angsty, but then I put myself in the time and age it was written in and it got way better | 15 | | Counting Crows August And Everything After
DK: 3, Good album, but nothing really jumped out and wowed me.
Me: 3.5, Dug it from start to finish, Adam Duritz has a very unique voice | 16 | | Weezer Weezer
DK: 3, Was never a big fan. Decent songs, but the proto-hipster shit grates on me.
Me: 4. Opinion hasn't changed since the last time I listened to it. Great, fun album. | 17 | | Bush Sixteen Stone
DK: 2.5, Solid songwriting brought down by almost-parody vocals.
Me: 2.5, Song or two I liked, but overall not very good | 18 | | blink-182 blink-182
DK: 1.5, This shit is like Linkin Park on the opposite side of the spectrum.
Me: 4, Grew up listening to this album, more mature than Enema(which I prefer) | 19 | | Third Eye Blind Third Eye Blind
DK: 2.5, Liked it better than Blink, but I wasn't drawn in. Still, I didn't hate it.
Me: 4, Sad, emotional, catchy, good | 20 | | Dinosaur Jr. You're Living All Over Me
DK: 4, Much more raw and engaging than I expected knowing their later work.
Me: 3.5, Catchy at points, boring and droning at others | |

05.20.17 | I was really happy with this stretch of albums because I found some new stuff I genuinely dug and will check out more of. | Conmaniac
05.20.17 | thank god for your opinion on 19/16. and yeah 3 isnt that bad honestly...i still kinda like the song how you remind me | Nazzadan
05.20.17 | I mean if 3 is their best I don't want to hear anything else by them, but it was aaaaalmost a 3. How You Remind Me is a bit of a jam | Demon of the Fall
05.20.17 | I rate boring music less than slightly annoying music, it's like giving a few 'respect points' for creativity & usually there's something to appreciate... I find 11, 13 & 14 offensively boring (well actually 13 is just plain bad). | ArsMoriendi
05.20.17 | Primus is so good though. If you really enjoyed it, why not check other stuff by them? | Conmaniac
05.20.17 | classic^^^^ | Joeman82
05.20.17 | I love 14 but I can see why people don't like it. Primus is also really good so I'd recommend to keep listening to the albums if you liked frizzle fry. | LethalPaintball
05.20.17 | bad opinion @16 | SteakByrnes
05.20.17 | 19 is beautiful |
