Devastator
06.22.17 | Ships by the 30th, now its just the waiting game. |
Kalopsia
06.22.17 | The Switch is one of the worst consoles in the history of consoles, believe me.
Paying $400ish for a console with 1 game? Sad!
We're going to build a better console and Nintendo is going to pay for it. |
tempest--
06.22.17 | pre-ordered? didnt they come out like 3 months ago |
Devastator
06.22.17 | @Tempest, the thing sells out seconds after it is restocked in store or online. So They have pre-orders for the next shipment coming in. |
VaxXi
06.22.17 | Nintendo didn't actually expect their console to sell so well so they're severely understocked right now. On top of that, one of the chips they use to power the console is manufactured by a company that is currently stuck in a bidding war between Nintendo and Apple for manufacturing rights, which will make keeping up with demands even harder.

06.22.17 | was lucky enough to snag one like a month after launch and now i'm waiting for them sweet sweet games
BotW was worth it though |
bloc
06.22.17 | As much as I would love to have a console to play with I know for sure it would just sit there in my house and collect dust. |
tempest--
06.22.17 | ah thanks for info guys.
doesn't happen like that in Australia, we just have to pay 30% higher prices or some bullshit |
Kalopsia
06.22.17 | PS4 > Switch |
Chortles
06.22.17 | i had my doubts for awhile but it looks pretty tite. gonna jump in and get one when we see a price drop eventually |
AmericanFlagAsh
06.22.17 | I got mine day of release at Target |
Kalopsia
06.22.17 | beyond BotW (not even a Switch exclusive), I have no interest in:
1. buying games that came out several years ago on other consoles, to play them again with worse graphics and poorly implemented and unnecessary motion controls
2. buy Virtual console games that Nintendo has been re-packaging for dummies to buy over and over again
3. shitty shovel-ware games that I wouldn't even want to play on my phone while taking a dump
Nintendo 'teasing' Metroid 4 seemed really desperate. It's years away at this point. It's fake hype to keep Switch-buyers from slowly realizing they made a bad choice.
Mario Odyssey seems to be getting a lot of praise, but it looks boring as shit to me. |
Davil667
06.22.17 | Nah Mario Odyssey looks great imo. They managed to create a new Mario experience without sacrificing the great old Nintendo feeling. At least that's what I get from the teaser. |

actually Nintendo says they're aiming for a 2018 launch. whether you wanna believe em or not is another story. |
kris.
06.22.17 | along with that Pokemon game, too. idk, Switch has (almost) no games for now but there's a lot to be excited about. |
tempest--
06.22.17 | new Yoshi and Kirby both look great. I motion that Yoshi has the best and most cutest sound effects of any Nintendo IP |
Crymsonblaze
06.22.17 | I'll wait for massive price cuts, when games worth playing come out.
I'm excited for Mario Odyssey, and especially Octopath Traveler (THAT GAME LOOKS SO COOL), but I'm not tryin to pay $400 for a console anymore. I got my PS4 slim on Cyber Monday last year for $210, and consider me officially spoiled for all time.
Although maybe I don't need a Switch anyway. I play like one new video game a year. My PS4 is basically a Netflix/YouTube machine. The only game I've played on it since I bought it was Final Fantasy XV. A Switch would probably a waste of money for me tbh. |
MyNameIsPencil
06.22.17 | just be like me and plan to get a PS4 within a year |

lum pum! |
HarryBoBerry
06.22.17 | Idk man, I got pretty hyped over the Metroid teaser. If they can pull off large scale Zelda and Mario games with success, I would die to see a fully realized Metroid game of the same scale. |
kris.
06.22.17 | gimme that Prime 1-3 remaster so i can finally play them |
LepreCon
06.22.17 | Haters gonna hate, it's a nifty little piece of tech. Needs more games or else it will soon go the way of the Wii U though. For now it's worth the cost of admission for Zelda alone, that game is beautiful and fun as all hell except for the stupid weapon degradation. |
BlazinBlitzer
06.22.17 | I guess a good little bit about the Switch is that Breath of the Wild on the Switch is the fastest selling Nintendo launch title of all time. |
ChocolateStarfish
06.22.17 | If this video doesn't want to make you run and buy a switch, then idk what to tell ya..

06.22.17 | kalopsia sounds like a miserable fella |
Alondite
06.22.17 | Weapon degradation is critical to BotW's design. Without it, there's no reason to deviate from a strategy of just smacking everything to death, which would be an absolute shame considering that the game is so dynamic with so much interplay and gives you so many ways to tackle every challenge. It's a good design decision, without question.

06.23.17 | nah i'm quite well adjusted thank you, just someone whose tired of the big N's bullshit |
0GuyMan0
06.23.17 | Has a switch.
As usual, Nintendo provides the ideal 2nd console (assuming you don't PC game), with the added bonus of taking it anywhere and everywhere. I actually play it way more in handheld mode than docked. When I do, though, you need that pro controller. Its arguably the greatest controller of all time, and the fucker lasts FOREVER without a charge.
The library isn't amazing right now, though BoTW, Isaac, MK8D and Arms is fairly respectable at this point.
However, when it gets Hollow Knight and Dead Cells? And yeah...even Skyrim??? Well that is pretty great. |
Alondite
07.08.17 | Don't forget about Super Mario Odyssey and Metroid Prime 4 (even though the latter is a ways off).
Also, artificial demand is not an actual economic principal. Artificially limiting supply doesn't affect demand, it just limits profits because people who would be buying can't.
However, the commercial failing of the Wii U is to blame for the Switch's conservative supply.
