09.18.08 | Hey, 7 is awesome. But I'm a bit of a fanboy with them (except their first three, which puts me at odds with the vast majority of this site).
3...It's trivium. Traitors to metal? Why would you want them?! |
Athom
09.18.08 | I downloaded 3. I couldnt get through the first song, and i like some pretty shitty music. yes to 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 15, and 16 |
ninjuice
09.18.08 | 3 is Trivium. pass. end of story
7 is good but not that great, check out anything from Jester Race to Colony instead |

09.18.08 | Nice to see someone interested in Satch and Andy Mckee, I have those and will say personally they are great listens. The new Metallica album is of a high quality and rust in peace may be Megadeaths finest hour.
The Devil Knows My Name however is not so hot as there are no hooks or variation this time around, it's just fret wankery until the cows come home. I suggest you track down Requiem, John 5's new album to get a more composed and thoughtful version of TDKMN.
I noticed most of these are guitar virtuoso releases and so you should also look into some Steve Vai, one of the poster boy for the movement, Passion and Warfare will do nicely for a starter. |

09.18.08 | 5 IS WORTH GETTING |
engleprunt
09.18.08 | Def get 1, 4, 11, 15, & 22. There are better Buckethead albums than the ones you listed. If you don't already have them, get Monsters & Robots or Crime Slunk Scene instead. |
poweroftheweez
09.18.08 | 6,7, and 12 are good ones. 23 is an absolute must. |
Dethtrasher
09.18.08 | Rust In Peace is a fucking must-have. Get that album now! |
Prince of Darkness
09.18.08 | Get Megadeth and, well, you can't go wrong with Racer X and Frank Zappa tbh. |
botb
09.18.08 | Get 1.
Get 3, I just got it and it's surprisingly very good. I'm enjoying it quite a bit.
Get 5, it's Metallica returning to the forefront of metal.
Get 7, it's the most radio-friendly of all of In Flames's stuff but I still love it.
Get 8, they are a fun band.
Get 11, in fact get everything by Frank Zappa that you can find, as he's a complete genius.
Get 16, great post-rock.
I don't know about the shred albums like cooley, satriana, batio and buckethead. However, if you are into crazy guitar you absolutely MUST get perpetual motion by Jason Becker as it is probably the best in that genre. |
Murmur
09.18.08 | I would probably just get a zappa album instead of a compalation. You should start with probably Hot Rats, Apostrophe, or Freak Out. |

09.20.08 | bringonthebreakdown...I dunno what radio you listen to, but the only radiofriendly song on that album was Come Clarity and it was absolutely fantastic. I'd say their most radiofriendly would be STYE, and mainly because of two songs - both of which are masterpieces. |
myhigherpie
10.07.08 | get a better in flames album. I recommend the jesters race. Trivium sucks. rust in piece is amazing and worth it. I personally didnt like death magnetic. |
Kronzo
11.05.08 | John 5's new album is good but has too many interludes, and i reccomend the trivium album. |
BurstKalbrik
11.30.08 | 20 is good if you like rapid quick changes from one genre to another within songs. Same goes for 18, but it sticks to one genre. 19 is a more mellow album than what's on here. 5 is hit or miss, and 3 is a mess.
From what I hear, 1, 23, and 24 are must-haves. |
