Favorite EP's of 2018
Quite a few good EPs that came this year |
10 | | Epica Epica vs Attack on Titan Songs
Kind of a dumb idea, but I can't help but smile at this. An overall good fun little EP. |
9 | | Fight The Fury Still Breathing
This is what Skillet should sound like. It's far from innovative sure, but I'd much rather prefer this than whatever the fuck Unleashed was. |
8 | | Haywyre Panorama: Discover
I always look forward to this guy. Even though there's really nothing that spectacular for him, it's still a lot of fun to listen to. Can't wait to see what the other 5 EPs bring to the table. |
7 | | Fight the Fade Masks
I really want this band to reach the potential that they have, and this EP really does show that potential. Zene Smith is just such a killer vocalist. |
6 | | Nothing But Thieves What Did You Think When You Made Me This Way?
Another band that's doesn't get enough attention. Listen to this band (and this EP), especially considering how bad the new Muse record was. |
5 | | The Mercury Tree The Cryptic Tree
This is a really fun and weird little EP by a fun and weird band. I love what this band has done over the past few years and I'm really interested to see what their new member can add to them. |
4 | | Converge Beautiful Ruin
Just about everything that Converge puts out is absolute gold, and this 6-minute rampage is no exception. |
3 | | Conception My Dark Symphony
Roy Khan is back and he literally sounds like he never left music. Really nice to see him back in action, and with his first band no less. Really hoping they'll release more music at some point. |
2 | | mewithoutYou [untitled] e.p.
Basically a part one to the actual album. Just an overall beautiful EP that really does capture just how unique and incredible these guys are, and the LP is also another example. |
1 | | Hespera In Absence
2018 was the year for Bjorn Strid. He did two albums and this awesome EP. (and the new Soilwork is coming out next month as well) I guess you could argue that it sounds a bit too much like Soilwork, but considering that we haven't had a whole lot of actual material from them up until now, this ended up being a great fill-in in the meantime. |
