Tim's 2024 Live Music Itinerary
Gonna get started since I'm already buying tickets for 2024. If you know of any interesting musical acts going on tour, let a guy know. I plan on coming back to write blurbs for each once the respective event has occurred |
1 | | Thursday War All the Time
2/21 w/ Rival Schools, Many Eyes @ Paradise Rock Club, Boston MA
Band crushed it. Bummed the keyboardist isn't present for this reunion but they still didn't miss a beat with the album. Playing a full-album show for a very lyrical band quickly becomes a singalong with the audience though and that kills the vibe. |
2 | | Rival Schools United By Fate
enjoyed some of their music, some of it wasn't my thing |
3 | | Many Eyes "no albums yet" lol
Kieth Buckley's new band. If you like metalcore and metalcore things, they were a good time |
4 | | mclusky McLusky Do Dallas
3/8 @ the Sinclair, Cambridge MA
Will honestly say I was not terribly impressed. They played their songs well, the pit was lit, but aside from the vibe right up front it was a fairly down crowd and that had me feeling a bit like I could have just stayed in and listened to their music on spotify. Glad I got to see them play tho |
5 | | The Martha's Vineyard Ferries Suns Out Guns Out
not exciting |
6 | | Dropkick Murphys The Warrior's Code
3/15 w/ Pennywise, The Scratch @ MGM Fenway
Very lively performance. Probably more or less the same performance and setlist they put on every night but being in Boston and with St. Patty's day just two days away it was a routy show and I was there for it |
7 | | Pennywise Full Circle
didn't get there in time for them |
8 | | Sleepytime Gorilla Museum Of Natural History
3/17 w/ Singer Mali, Rong @ The Sinclair, Cambridge MA
They were originally supposed to perform with Singer Mali and Rong if I remember correctly, but it ended up being "An Evening with Sleepytime Gorilla Museum". Was only able to stay for the first set cuz my body felt like absolute ass that night, but it was an amazing set. Out of this world music with crazy instruments and the band was acompanied by Shinichi Iova-Koga, who I am following on any outlet I can now. Probably the best show I've seen this year so far.
Someone took a video of the Powerless performance which was my favorite of the evening, aside from maybe the This Heat cover where Dan broke out "the wiggler": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VIvqmAyGc8 |
9 | | Ministry The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste
