Jrowa001 Digs These
so heres some albums ive come across the last month or so that i think are worth checking out if it sounds like something youll like. let me know what you think or if youve heard any of these |
1 | | Walknut Graveforests and Their Shadows
amazing atmospheric black metal |
2 | | Engineer The Dregs
solid hardcore band |
3 | | Lunatic Soul Lunatic Soul
side project of Riverside's vocalist Duda. more prog rock but this stuff is a little more spacey and it has some world folk thrown in |
4 | | Senmuth Planetary Dust
darkwave/instrumental band. good background music |
5 | | Lunar Aurora Welteng?nger
black metal. fucking awesome black metal. i really wish sputnik would allow accents. its Welteng?nger btw |
6 | | Carpathian Forest Defending the Throne of Evil
ive heard mixed things about this band. i found this album to be pretty good symphonic black metal |
7 | | Dan Deacon Bromst
this album is just plain awesome and fun. read the review for it. |
8 | | The Sorrow Blessings From a Blackened Sky
Unearth-esque metalcore band but not a ripoff band. solid instrumentals and the guitarists are great. vocals are where a lot of the unearth comparisons come to play, but the added clean vocals distance this from unearth. |
9 | | Sombres For?ts Royaume de Glace
its about time i got this album. its amazing! for any fans of black metal |
10 | | Propagandhi Supporting Caste
ive been listening to this so many times since it leaked. a strong 4.5 from me and possibly a 5. its that good. punk would be dead if it werent for Propagandhi and A Wilhelm Scream. |
11 | | Gustaf Spetz Good Night Mr. Spetz
so this is what Coldplay would sound like if they didnt bore the crap out of me and have tolerable vocals. |
12 | | Marissa Nadler Little Hells
one of the best female folk artist of our time. this is her best album yet and she delivers some excellent acoustic guitar songs that will capture your mood from the start |
13 | | Marilies Jagsch Obituary for a Lost Mind
damn this album is eerie for a female folk artist. very sad songs accompanied by some hopeful ones. her voice is relaxing and sad. |
14 | | Festival Come, Arrow, Come!
an upbeat female folk duo. i like how their vocals layer each other |
15 | | Soap and Skin Lovetune For Vacuum
whoever added this should have put the name as Soap&Skin. what a beautiful album. piano driven music with female vocals over a somewhat darkwave atmosphere. theres some catchy moments but thats not what this album is about. some songs are too short (heck i think the album couldve been a bit longer), but overall this is one of my fav albums of the year so far |
16 | | Vaka Kappa Delta Phi
sludge metal with the lead singer of Ghost Brigade taking care of the vocals. if you like sludge then get this. it is solid stuff |
17 | | Runemagick Enter the Realm of Death
traditional doom inspired death metal. this album is for anyone who considers themselves a metalhead. you will be headbanging like no other and you will be feeling so fucking manly! im talking to you Balls |
18 | | Kongh Counting Heartbeats
sludge metal band. songs are more atmospheric than other hard hitting sludge bands, but this still is a heavy album and feels like a giant tidal wave |
19 | | Oh Land Fauna
female fronted indie pop |
20 | | Gabriela Kulka Out
female fronted indie with a bluesy edge |
21 | | The Reasoning Dark Angel
prog rock with both female and male vocals. . for fans of Paatos and Brave |
22 | | Havok Being and Nothingness
their Apathy Esplanade EP is one of the best death metal EPs ive ever heard from this new death metal band. no we see their debut LP and it doesnt disappoint. extremely skilled band that know how to write fast, heavy, catchy riffs with chaotic drumming and ferocious vocals. i demand you all to check this band out |
23 | | The Lawrence Arms Oh! Calcutta!
i brushed this off the first time i heard it a while ago, but i got the ambition to try it again and i really enjoyed it. great punk |
24 | | Achilles Hospice
sludgy hardcore. vocals are immense, but ive heard this done before |
25 | | Biffy Clyro Infinity Land
over time this has become my favorite BC album. catchy post-hardcore with some math rock guitars thrown in. vocals are so good! |
26 | | Harlem Shakes Technicolor Health
indie/elecronic pop group. very danceable album |
27 | | School of Seven Bells Alpinisms
similar to Harlem Shakes but with female vocals |
28 | | The Phantom band Checkmate Savage
interesting band. dont really know what genre to put them under. could be indie but the vocals are not like the normal indie bands youre used to. just check them out and see for yourself |
29 | | The Agonist Lullabies for the Dormant Mind
ok, so i didnt not like their previous album AT ALL! i thought it was messy and just very amateurish. now their new album comes along and i am reluctant to check it out, but i did and im pleasantly surprised with a very matured band that seems to know what they want to do. the vocals are insane! a nice surprise |
30 | | Our Broken Garden When Your Blackening Shows
a soft and simple dreamy folk album from this female finnish artist. the vocals dont ever get intense, but just stay at a calm pace. if youre in the mood to relax and take a nice sleep then pop this in. it works more as a relaxer than something you can sit and listen to |
31 | | Irepress Sol Eye Sea I
post-rock/mathy rock. talented band. some parts, especially the beginning of the opening song has some heavier, technical riffs |
32 | | Burbuja Burbuja
female led trip-hop. more poppy then most trip-hop but still the beats are great |
33 | | Glorior Belli Manifesting the Raging Beast
black metal with clean production but they play a style that should have a more rawer sound. all around its good stuff but might be a little too clean |
34 | | We're All Gonna Die Kiss the Ground, Curse the Sky
stoner rock/metal. the heavier songs are much better then their slower rock ballad songs. the vocals dont work well in those ones. |
35 | | El Caco Heat
the new album from one of my fav hard rock bands. more of the same but not as good as their previous two albums |
