11.18.09 | Why are both Disturbed and Tool on the same "best..." list? |
BrandNewBoognish
11.18.09 | because tool and disturbed suck? |
Romulus
11.19.09 | But Therapy?'s on here so we're all good |
AnotherBrick
11.19.09 | or because they both rule |
Romulus
11.19.09 | Or Tool rules and Disturbed sucks. |
BrandNewBoognish
11.19.09 | or tool are ok and disturbed sucks |
Inveigh
11.19.09 | oh man how i wish i could find 12 for under 30 bucks... |
Nagrarok
11.19.09 | ...uuuuhhh...White Stripes hard rock? Don't think so. |
Bullitt
11.19.09 | Alterbridge-Blackbird is my favorite Hard Rock album in recent memory. |
ScorpionStan
11.19.09 | good list, you left a lot off though. where's Illusion of Safety? The Sufferer & the Witness? some Deftones? Killswitch?
also, Wonder What's Next is the best Chevelle album. |
MrHotMoms
11.19.09 | tool is amazing. |
ScorpionStan
11.19.09 | ^good call on Blackbird Bullitt, forgot about that one. |

11.19.09 | Nagrarok: Icky Thump by The White Stripes is evidently a hard rock album. It's very hard rock. You must have serious problems with hearing if you can't notice it. You can argue about their previous efforts though.
Bullit: I like Blackbird, but I haven't listened to it for a very long time. I guess that's the reason why is absent from this list. Plus, I don't find it that awesome.
Inveigh: It's also very expensive here in Poland. So, regrettably I can't help you.
And yeah. To everyone else, I like Disturbed. Sue me! |
greg84
11.19.09 | ScorpionStan: I don't consider Deftones, Killswitch, or Thrice hard rock. |
ScorpionStan
11.19.09 | well "hard rock" is a very general term...it implies 2 extremes: hard rock and soft rock. and given those 2 categories, all of the bands i mentioned fall into the "hard rock" category. pretty obvious. |

11.19.09 | clutch ftfw |

11.19.09 | ScorpionStan: Not exactly. If that was true I'd have to include metal albums on here. Hard rock was originally a combination of rock'n'roll and blues. Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, you know what I mean. It has quite a few things in common with hardcore, punk, not to mention metal although it influenced these genres. |

11.19.09 | Fucking awesome list, though I would have had Disclaimer II instead of the original.
The Sufferer And The Witness is not hard rock IMO. |
greg84
11.19.09 | Thanks. Disclaimer II is also pretty tight because the mojority of the added songs is very good. Not a huge fan of the last album from these guys. |
Eclectic
11.19.09 | Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces sucked, I'm just hoping their next one (which I believe they're recording now) stops the trend into generic radio rock. |
1994DazDillinger
11.20.09 | Yeah it can't get much worse than Chevelle and Seether. While your at it throw in some Three days grace... At least you have Tool listed. To each his own, but this list is in need of deftones, queens of the stone age, and NIN. |
ninjacat11
11.20.09 | Yeah, Tool is OK and Disturbed is terrible. |
Eclectic
11.20.09 | Seether was a decent band. Sure they were never anything incredible but at least they weren't as generic as Nickelback, the band that helped them get to where they are. |
Romulus
11.20.09 | Greg with what you like I'm surprised you aren't more into Hurt |
greg84
11.21.09 | 1994DazDillinger: I'm not familiar with Three Days Grace and consider Chevelle one of my personal faves. Besides, all these bands you listed aren't hard rock for me. NIN are industrial, Deftones are nu-metal and QUOTSA are alt rock. I like all of them a lot though.
romgsom: The first album by Hurt is excellent, the other two not so much imo. Still, they make for a decent listen.
As for Seether, they definitely went donwhill/mainstream after their first album. And I really couldn't care less what other people say about Disturbed. I like them. |
greg84
11.21.09 | I forgot Jerry Cantrell's Degradation Trip. Fixed. |
qwe3
11.21.09 | Bonerstreet - s/t |
greg84
11.21.09 | Haven't even heard of them. |

01.24.10 | Before I opened this, I thought to myself, "This guy has got to mention Queens of the Stone Age." But sure enough, NO Queens of the Stone Age to be seen! Seriously, dude, you even have Them Crooked Vultures and a whole bunch of these other bands I've never heard of, but you left out the BEST hard rock band of the 00's. SHAME! |
greg84
01.24.10 | Hmm. I own all their albums except Era Vulgaris that was disappointing. I guess I don't consider them enough hard rock to appear on this list. They are alt rock or simply a rock band if you ask me. You can argue they have many hard rock songs, but I'm not entirely sure if they belong here. |

01.24.10 | What's that SIXX:AM soundtrack thing all about, I've been wondering |
