| Inveigh + 2009 = 20 Wins, Son!
Yeah... another 2009 list. Typical number of albums too.. how can I make this one different? I got nothing. Feel free to agree, comment, rec or just rip this list to pieces. Oh, and people with fake girl accounts are welcome too; I don't hate or discriminate. | 20 | | Mr. Lif I Heard It Today

12.07.09 | that new raekwon's the shizit, dawgy | Inveigh
12.07.09 | Yeah man, I love it. I actually hear that Ghostface, Raekwon and Method Man (and maybe GZA? not sure about that...) are coming out with an album in 2010. Not sure why they wouldn't just make a Wu-Tang album... but whatever. | intothepit83
12.07.09 | that would make more sense, wouldn't it? u check out that deez nuts yet? | Zoo
12.07.09 | auditorium may be my favorite track this year. good list for the most part. i count 6 that will be on mine | Blindsided
12.07.09 | Makes me feel all gooey inside to see so much Doomtree/Rhymesayers on one list. | Inveigh
12.07.09 | Joseph: Hell yeah man, there probably would've been more if Brother Ali and E&A didn't totally drop the ball this year with their new records.
Zoo: I love that entire Mos Def album; possibly comeback of the year?
intothepit: not yet, downloading right now actually. | theacademy
12.07.09 | beautiful list | Groink
12.07.09 | Awesome stuff on here. | Inveigh
12.07.09 | Thanks dudes. Anything I missed? | PuddlesPuddles
12.07.09 | Longshot is probably one of my top 5 songs of the year
Awesome album | Inveigh
12.07.09 | Yea man, I absolutely love Plastique. I gotta get on Sole's other shit with the quickness. | somberlain
12.07.09 | am I being to harsh on OB4CL2?
is it because its not as good as the 1st one?
I think its good not great | Inveigh
12.07.09 | perhaps somberlain, but maybe not. I like it a lot, but not as much as a lot of the people on this site. I've got it rated a 4, but it's definitely a low 4.. I'll have to go back and listen to the first one to really be able to say which one I like more. I'd say it's about on par with Fishscale for me.
Check out some of the other hip hop on this list if you haven't heard any of it; probably a little more up your alley man. | somberlain
12.07.09 | really digging Plastique right now thanx for that rec! | Inveigh
12.07.09 | no prob man, if you come across anything worth checking out lemme know! | somberlain
12.07.09 | sure thing.
give Funcrusher Plus a try almost gave it a 4.5 | Phrike
12.07.09 | You forgot Ocean Of Apathy for 5 | Inveigh
12.07.09 | ^I do love Ocean of Apathy, but not quite as much as the three I have listed there.
somberlain: I'll try to pick that up this week. The only thing from El-P that I have is I'll Sleep When You're Dead... this is more/less accessible? | Deviant.
12.07.09 | Awesome list dude, stoke that you've had 3 for only a couple of days
and it's that far up!
There's a lot of win on here, half of this is my list haha | Inveigh
12.07.09 | ^haha, yeah I figured our lists would end up looking pretty much the same (only yours being a little more metal and mine being a little more hip hop).
But yea dude, I can't get enough of Ulcerate. It literally gets better EVERY time I listen to it. And I've been listening to it almost exclusively for a good 5 or so days now. Thanks again for the rec bro. | Deviant.
12.07.09 | No probs at all man, i'll rec good nz music to anyone and everyone
that'll listen haha.
Haven't checked out 2 yet, should probably get on that | EVedder27
12.07.09 | Absoutely agree with your choices for Beggars | Inveigh
12.07.09 | EVedder: Yep, if I had put 4 songs I think either Wood and Wire or In Exile would've made the cut. Beggars is really a record with staying power; not necessarily a "grower" per se, but it definitely doesn't get old quickly (to me, at least).
Deviant: YES. Get on Never Better asap. Although Audition (his 2006 album) is probably a little better. Ipecac Neat (2004) is really good too. Best to start with Never Better and work your way backward I suppose. | Deviant.
12.07.09 | I'll look them up when I get home. I'll always have a soft spot for
hip hop, this year just consumed me with too much metal though haha | Inveigh
12.07.09 | That was me this year too man, up until the last month or so (got Felt, Sole, Sol.Illaquists of Sound, Raekwon, Mos Def and Mr. Lif all recently) because there's been so much good metal this year. I was also on like a two year hip hop kick prior to '09.
P.O.S. is awesome dude. He plays guitar, bass and keys/sampling on all his albums -- plus he sings and screams in addition to rapping. His hip-hop is very punk/metal/hardcore influenced. Probably my favorite emcee right now. | Deviant.
12.07.09 | I'm sold brutha, If only I could download at work.... | Inveigh
12.07.09 | I feel ya man, I can't even listen to music on myspace at work. | somberlain
12.07.09 | inveigh: probably a bit more accesible than el-p's solo stuff but it's crazy lyrical.
I like I'll sleep when you're dead but this is very different I would say, in a good way | Inveigh
12.07.09 | Nice, I'm interested. I liked ISWYD, but sometimes the beats were just a little too grating, or hard on the ears... something. | somberlain
12.07.09 | you're right about the beats in ISWYD and his debut Fantastic Damage was more sonically dense(even harder to listen to!) but Funcrusher has much more minmalist production | Inveigh
12.07.09 | word, I'll check it out this week for sure then man | Inveigh
09.21.10 | just took another look at this... had to edit the order a bit | Maniac!
09.21.10 | My list was better ;] | ffs
09.21.10 | so now
you're gonna change everything? | JWT155
09.21.10 | Nah, mine was. | Inveigh
09.21.10 | but where is your list Maniac? | Maniac!
09.21.10 | http://www.sputnikmusic.com/list.php?memberid=421261&listid=55622
bitch | Emim
09.21.10 | Good list, broski | Maniac!
09.21.10 | Thanks Emim
;D | Inveigh
09.21.10 | oh shit can't believe I forgot Lost Ground for this list
also, I put The Original 11:11 Sessions on my '09 honorable mentions list, mainly because it was recorded in 2003-2004 and was supposed to be released back then, etc. Otherwise, it would be numero uno. |
