02.12.11 | Discussion on both the list and the game are welcome. |

02.12.11 | I played that game on the SNES back in the day and it is easily one of the best old school RPGs out there. It was also one of the first where your actions through out the game actually affect the course of the story later on. |
WashboardSuds
02.12.11 | Great stuff on this list, Chrono Trigger I've yet to play seeing as I refuse to play anything besides the tangible, original SNES cartridge. They have CT and Lufia 2 at a retailer near my house for $70 and $65 respectively, I guess they are really rare and collectible |
Willie
02.12.11 | Get an emulator and play it on your computer for free. |
Nagrarok
02.12.11 | Since this completely retains the original content, plus added cutscenes, plus more extensive info, menus, etc., I don't see why you'd really want the original instead. |
WashboardSuds
02.12.11 | lol i don't like using emulators, its just not the same as playing it on its original system. besides I collect old videogames and i almost have enough for CT (its in beautiful condition) |
Phideaux
02.12.11 | Awesome game. |

02.12.11 | love the game...even though it has the most unimaginative name for a character ever

02.12.11 | Chrono Trigger is the bomb. Beat the original a couple years ago. |

02.12.11 | have it too... could never really get into it. |
Jethro42
02.12.11 | List is nicely done. It also needs;
Alan Parsons Project - The Turn of a Friendly Card - Time
Rolling Stones - Time is on my side
annnd I dunno the game |
AngelofDeath
02.12.11 | Nag and Jethro, how did you both forget Time and a Word? |
vanderb0b
02.12.11 | List is really nice. Never got around to playing the game, downloading it along with an emulator so that I can waste my time with it instead of doing history outlines. |
acorncheese
02.12.11 | Great game. Have the SNES cartridge in my room. I've always been a FFVI>Chrono Trigger guy.
|
Jethro42
02.12.11 | @Angel; Damn, I have no idea. |
AngelofDeath
02.12.11 | There are several FF titles that I feel are superior to this game, but it's a classic nonetheless. |
Nagrarok
02.12.11 | 'Nag and Jethro, how did you both forget Time and a Word?'
I considered it, but Yes has better songs/albums. I also came across Uriah Heep's Traveler in Time, but then I'd already put 1 in. |
Jethro42
02.12.11 | huh Nag... song Time and a Word is, as the album, pretty great even if we both disagree on wich is the best between their first two albums.
Here is the famous 'Time' by Alan Parsons;

02.12.11 | Yeah, I'm not saying it's bad by any means, it just pales in comparison to their classic albums for me. |
acorncheese
02.12.11 | If you remain RPG-hungry after beating CT then you should check out Secret of Mana. |
Nagrarok
02.12.11 | Oh please no, I still have a couple of the old-school FF's I want to finish. I did really want to get my hands on this one since it's received such praise and because it was becoming harder and harder to come by. That's the disadvantage of the DS' main audience. |
acorncheese
02.12.11 | Which older FFs? |
Inveigh
02.12.11 | man this takes me back to the days when i loved video games and specifically RPGs
Final Fantasy III for SNES and VII for PS1 are classic. also Secret of Mana, Legend of Gaia, Xenogears etc. |
acorncheese
02.12.11 | I've actually never played Xenogears. Always wanted to. Gonna have to buy that soon. |
Nagrarok
02.12.11 | 'Which older FFs?'
II, V and VI, all of which I own the GBA remake of. II hasn't really managed to keep me interested, but I'm far in V and plan to play VI afterward (which I've heard some regard as the best in the series). The newer ones I've all played longer ago, own VII, VIII and IX in the original PS version, and X/XII as well on PS2. |
AngelofDeath
02.12.11 | Xenogears is awesome. Check out Legend of Dragoon and Breath of Fire III as well. FFV and VI are outstanding. VII will probably always remain my favorite though. |
Nagrarok
02.12.11 | 'VII will probably always remain my favorite though.'
Same here, first FF I ever played (originally on PC, which I couldn't finish because disc 2 was broken, PS was so much better). Makes it all the more nostalgic. |
acorncheese
02.12.11 | I need to get FFII and FFV for GBA. Haven't beaten those two. Made it pretty far in V on an emulator, but I'm pretty sure it had fan translation. I played Legend of Dragoon as a kid but never beat it; another game I need to buy. Might be picking up an NES+8 games for $20 today via craigslist since my original two are both broken. |
Nagrarok
02.12.11 | I have the Dawn of Souls compilation, which puts I and II together on one cartridge. V on GBA is pretty neatly done. |
WashboardSuds

I'm jealous of you but I agree with you at the same time |

02.13.11 | WHERE THE FUCK IS CYNDI LAUPER |
acorncheese
02.13.11 | One RPG I absolutely need to get around to playing is Treasure of the Rudras. It was never released in English, but some company made an English patch so you can play it through an emulator. It looks pretty incredible. Can't imagine how many classic RPGs there are on SNES that weren't released outside of Japan. If you wanna know more about this game go here:

02.13.11 | yah the ds version of chrono trigger. would've been a fool not to buy it. |

02.13.11 | Always wanted Xenogears and Xenosaga
Playing V right now , I have a GBA emulator on my phone . gonna play VI afterward
bought two copies of CT on DS for me and a friend , he's already played through it a couple times but my copy is still at his house unopened |
MUNGOLOID
02.13.11 | was always interested in xenogears ever since my cousin showed it to me so many years back. it needs to be on the psn store now. |
Masochist
02.13.11 | First played Chrono Trigger on an emulator on my PC for no particular reason at all. It was the first old-school RPG I'd ever played (I was an economically disadvantaged child, you see), and it remains my favorite to this day. I have the DS version, and I also have Chrono Cross for PSX (again, on an emulator).
As for the list...you gotta have Daft Punk and Dream Theater. Well, at least the former. |

02.28.11 | 18 and 21 are so good. |
