03.04.11 | obviously this is just how I feel right now, and yeah I stopped at 30 so some stuff like Ghostdeini, Tical 0, Lex Diamond etc didn't make the cut, though they were close
also 30/30 artwork suckas |
AgentYorkMorgan
03.04.11 | This list ain't nothin ta duck wit |
Maniac!
03.04.11 | 5 > 4
3 > 2 |
Inveigh
03.04.11 | right now I like 3 more than 2 as well, but for the sake of (somewhat) objectivity and classic status, it just didn't feel right putting an album that's not even out yet as the #2 Wu-Tang release ever
but no I still like 4 more than 5 |
Rev
03.04.11 | For the most part, I agree with this |
Maniac!
03.04.11 | 4 gets stale halfway through.
2 is a classic, but I just happen to not like it as much as others. GZA has great lyrics, but his voice bothers me sometimes |
bloc
03.04.11 | 24 and 28 would me much higher for me, I love them. |
BigHans
03.04.11 | I havent heard them all but 16 is way way way way way better than 13 |
Inveigh
03.04.11 | 13's just essential though to understanding the Wu-Tang
I agree that at this point in my life it's easier to sit through the entirety of Apollo Kids compared with Return to 36
yeah bloc it was tough putting some Meth albums that low, but there's just so much damn filler, especially on 28 (to me) |
Psilocyanide
03.04.11 | I'd disagree with a lot, but oh well. |
Inveigh
03.04.11 | like what? other than 3 of course |
BigHans
03.04.11 | whatever the ranking is, so many fucking awesome albums here. |
Psilocyanide
03.04.11 | Idk i'd probably switch up the order on like 1/3 the list. Too many albums for me to really go in detail though |
Inveigh
03.04.11 | their discog is so ridiculously huge and full of quality albums, it's scary. of course I left out about 15 discs (at least, and that's not counting things like Wu-Tang Killa B's and Gravediggers and shit) so there's a lot of crap too.
Gravediggers do rule though |
BigHans
03.04.11 | I would put Iron Man at 8, Tical at 9, and Gravediggaz at 10 |
Inveigh
03.04.11 | lol why was I calling them 'Gravediggers'? so much whiter than I used to be...
I think my issue with Tical is that I didn't hear it early enough in the process -- actually didn't get that one until just a couple of years ago. It's great, but I didn't get attached to it like I probably would have had I heard it back when I first got into the Wu. Its murky production hurts the accessibility factor. |
BigHans
03.04.11 | Tical was actually the first Wu solo album I ever heard. Used to bang Bring the Pain and All I Need hardcore back in the day. |
Psilocyanide
03.04.11 | I'ma cut ya eyelids off and feed you nothing but sleeping pills. |
Inveigh
03.04.11 | yeah don't get me wrong, I love the shit out of Tical -- just not enough for it to be in my top 10 |
BigHans
03.04.11 | for really real son? |
TMobotron
03.04.11 | Lol at gravediggers. Should have dj muggs vs GZA on here but nice list. |
bloc
03.04.11 | Both of the ODB solo albums I've heard are some of the worst. |
Inveigh
03.04.11 | damn, forgot about DJ Muggs vs. GZA. but is that really Wu-affiliated if Gravediggaz isn't? for purposes of this list of course |
TMobotron
03.04.11 | I'd say so because muggs is just the producer. It's really no different from an album like shaolin vs wu tang imo, except one producer instead of multiple, where gravediggaz is an entirely different group. Not that I'm criticizing your list, js I wouldn't included it. But maybe I'm biased because it's one of my Favs. |
Inveigh
03.04.11 | nah I definitely think it deserves a spot on here in terms of quality, I probably should've listed it
well, for anyone who IS using this as a guide to the Wu -- get DJ Muggs vs. GZA! |
TMobotron
03.04.11 | Wu tang is the best thing thats Ever happened to music |
AggravatedYeti
03.04.11 | where's 'Whut? Thee Album' and I think 'Ironman' is criminally underrated here. Top 5 imo. |
Maniac!
03.04.11 | "Wu tang is the best thing thats Ever happened to music"
LOL |
TMobotron
03.04.11 | Haters gonna hate. Of course I dont mean objectively but as a whole they've contributed more that I love to music than any other group/ artist. |
Inveigh
03.04.11 | love Whut? Thee Album but Redman's not in Wu-Tang officially, though he might as well be lol |
Counterfeit
03.04.11 | listened to 4 today, forgot how much it slays |
ConsiderPhlebas
03.04.11 | Wow, 3 so high. I really like it, can't tell how much though as yet. 1 was my intro to hip-hop - stopped listening for years, so glad I got back into it. |
Hawks
03.04.11 | I'd say OB4CL is just a little better than Supreme Clientele, but yeah the top 5 is pretty much right. I still need some of these albums. |
BigHans
03.04.11 | After listening to them back to back the other day, I have decided that Fishscale > Supreme Clientelle |
Inveigh
03.04.11 | yeah I mean 2-7 really are all so damn close it's just a mood thing |
Trundle
03.04.11 | Here you are wasting time making a wu-tang list when you should be listening to the Awakening |
Hawks
03.04.11 | 8-11 are all amazing too. I really wanna hear 22. |
Counterfeit
03.04.11 | 22 is dece |
MUNGOLOID
03.04.11 | damn, surprised about how good the feedback 3 is getting. |
Calculate
03.04.11 | no way 3 is that good |
Hawks
03.04.11 | It is. |
bloc
03.05.11 | You'd think 22 would be great, but it's okay. |
Inveigh
03.05.11 | RZA actually ruined 22 by completely forgetting to give a shit about the EQs on the beats
and yeah 3 rules so hard, listening to it right now. Ross, I'll be listening to The Awakening in about 5 minutes |
Hawks
03.05.11 | I've listened to 3 so much in the past few days and I'm still not sick of it at all. About to listen to it again in a few minutes. |
Inveigh
03.05.11 | lol I'm closing in on 90 plays since it came out |
