08.25.11 | granted some of those aren't exactly metal, but have metal influence or influenced some metal bands |
dfumagalli236
08.25.11 | Haha, I've definitely heard most of those. How can anyone not love Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath? I'll definitely look into the ones I haven't heard though |
ThusSpokeZarathustra
08.25.11 | A little bit similar to Opeth:
WOODS OF YPRES – Pursuit Of the Sun & Allure of the Earth (though more doomy)
AGALLOCH – The Mantle
ULVER – Bergtatt
KATATONIA – Brave Murder Day (more post-metallish but also featuring Mikael Akerfeldt on vocals)
For stuff similar to Celtic Frost have you tried other first wave bm.... specifically, Hellhammer (same members, predecessor of CF), Bathory and Venom. If you like that stuff check out more black metal… Sarcofago, Immortal, Bulldozer, Darkthrone etc.
Even Beherit’s masterpiece “Drawing Down the Moon” has a little bit similar of an atmosphere to To Mega Therion imo…
For something similar to Emperor try Frozen Shadows from Canada, underrated cold, majestic bm very much in the vein of early Emperor and Immortal.
