08.03.22 | I thought the newsroom setting was actually really compelling from the perspective of someone who appreciates writing and journalism. Really brings to light the cultural impact of news and I enjoy the themes of journalistic integrity. I agree the serial killer bit was a bit of a stretch. But idk, McNulty’s not a GOOD guy, but he gets the job done by any means, however forced or stupid. Season 2 was great too imo. I like how the show picks whatever aspect of the Baltimore work force and drives home how none of the sides are all good or all bad, so much gray area. Season 4 probably IS the best, shit was really touching. Iirc it had the best version of the intro theme too. Hate how Dookie’s arc wrapped up, but it’s just like real life in the sense that you don’t always get a happy ending. Idk I never really rank the seasons as much as enjoy them all for different reasons. Very gripping tv. Probably my goat show. |

ig it sorta shows how the greeks only care about business and joes loyalty didnt matter to them, and that was sorta what joe was all about so in character w the show he goes out betrayed by what he believes. once marlo showed the green (and avon like verified him in prison or whateva happened there) they j didnt need him anymore. but i also didnt think it was the greatest way to wrap him up |

I know it's VERY depressing, but Dukie's arc in season 5 is one of the show's best. Its conclusion made me cry though
News Storyline needed 2 more episodes, Scott and Alma weren't fleshed out at all so it was mostly like Augustus and a bunch of boring stock characters
