New Gruff Rhys material 2014-03-29 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 2 Comments | Super Furry Animals frontman and solo artist, Gruff Rhys will release his 3rd effort, American Interior on May 5. The album, which will be accompanied by a movie, book and Android app, follows Gruff's journey through the American interior to find John Evans' grave.
Evans, a relative of Rhys, sailed all the way back in 1792 from Wales to Baltimore and walked through the Allegheny mountains to find a lost tribe of Welsh-speaking Native Americans, believed to be descendants of Prince Madog. Little is known about his adventures and he was last sighted in New Spain in 1799 under a new name: Don Juan Evans. Now, Gruff wrote his study and events that took place during his American tour in 2012.
