Taravana reveal new album; debut new single

Progressive metal band Taravana have announced their forthcoming album, Prevail, and posted the album's first single, 'Owned By the Ocean'.

A concept album about Ernest Shackleton's legendary expedition across Antarctica, Prevail is set for release on November 21st, exactly 100 years after the events that inspired it. The album incorporates several genres ranging from death metal to classical, and runs a taut 43 minutes over seven tracks.

Prevail is the first release by Taravana as a band, as vocalist/keyboardist Alex Newton is joined by former This or the Apocalypse drummer Aaron Maloney and guitarist Dan Wise. Guest musicians include cellist Raphael Weinroth-Browne of Musk Ox and guitarist John Barrett of Waverunner.

The drumming on this is killer. Huge step up from everything else by the band.
