Pay Money to my Pain Tease Announcement 2016-09-05 by decisions | 3 Comments | Defunct Japanese post-hardcore band Pay Money to My Pain have posted a countdown timer on their website, which counts down to September 11th, 2016.
What the timer is counting down to is anyone's guess.
Pay money To my Pain (abbreviated PTP) disbanded after their vocalist, Kei "K" Goto, passed away from acute heart failure at the end of 2012. The band played one final concert as a tribute to K in 2013, titled "From Here to Somewhere" (a song title from the band's first EP). This was after releasing a final album, titled "Gene" in 2013, which featured several songs that they band had been writing with K along with many features from the Japanese rock scene.
"Rain", embedded below, was the album's lead single.

I have no idea what this could be but the image on the website is just really striking, likely the last time anything will ever happen with this band that I love so much. K was one of the best vocalists I've known in terms of expressing emotion in his voice. And all the musicians were very in tune with one another, the band was never technical but always avoided musical cliches and sounded very cohesive.
Honestly I expect a boxset of all the albums with maybe some new previously unreleased demos of songs, really don't know what else it could be, aside from K rising from the dead.

EDIT: and Black Sheep.
| | | Another Day Comes is probably their best song, it's just an immense track. I love Home as well, really nailed it sounding sad. And Black Sheep and all the songs on the Drop of Ink EP are awesome and heavy, my favorite is Against the Pill.
Glad to see another person who even knows about them on here, I love all their releases to varying degrees.
