Jeff Rosenstock surprise album

2018-01-01 by ian b. | 6 Comments
Jeff Rosenstock, punk and ska legend formerly of Bomb The Music Industry! and The Arrogant sons of Bitches, has just dropped a surprise album to his bandcamp page entitled POST-.

The album appears to be the one he had stated in 2017 had all the master tapes stolen from. It seems as he has recovered these tapes evidently, and previous songs he had played live like "Melba" make their appearances on the record.

It is available through his bandcamp at this time only at https://jeffrosenstock.bandcamp.com/album/post.

Nooooooooooope. The "album" that was stolen was just some song ideas in a notebook and a digital recorder (ref: https://www.stereogum.com/1952733/qa-jeff-rosenstock-on-how-weird-it-was-to-be-playing-the-pitchfork-festival/franchises/interview/). I haven't heard that he's recovered any of that because how tf you gonna find a notebook and a digital recorder (they couldn't even get back the bulky and identifiable guitars and shit that got stolen last time)? Also, POST- was recorded long after he stated some material had been stolen from him ("This record was recorded and mixed from November 28th - December 5th 2017 by Jack Shirley at the Atomic Garden in East Palo Alto, CA").

It is available through his bandcamp at this time only

He also has a "digital label" website called Quote Unquote Records where he releases every single one of his records for free. Of course, POST- is no exception. http://quoteunquoterecords.com

Also it was available for pre-order at Polyvinyl right from the get-go. And now it's also over at Specialist Subject for UK customers.
