This is pretty good.
| |
enjoyed it
| |
It's good but I just have never liked the harsh vocals. They become so grating after about a minute or so
| |
Pretty good yea
| |
BLEGH
| |
It's fucking awesome!!!
| |
CONDEMNED TO THE GALLOOOWS!
| |
He can't convincingly do harsh vocals. Come at me bitches. You know I'm right.
| |
Honestly I don't think he's a terribly enjoyable vocalist on any level. His screams are monotonous and bland, but tolerable. It's his cleans that really rub me the wrong way.
That said I did enjoy the song, and I haven't been into these guys for years.
| |
vocals are pretty horrible as always.
| |
a BLEGH and a classic BTBAM solo. I fucking love it
I thought after Coma that Tommys throat was done with the harsh Vox, the colors 10 year tour must have brought them back
| |
I thought this was gonna be shit like coma, but this is actually good, sounds like something from hypersleep dialogues...
| |
Yeah, there's like no passion or conviction in the screams. Like at all.
| |
It was alright but I haven't listened to this band much for years and it sounded kinda tame here
| |
Tommy has always been the admittedly handsome turd in the punch bowl with these folk
| |
I will never admit Tommy is handsome! Never!
| |
sounds like btbamzzzz
| |
Yeah Tommy really stinks...
I feel this way about every singer that does this kind of shit except for Devin Townsend. Dev knows how to pull it off.
| |
He's tryin' his ol' dangest
| |
Was kinda worried after Coma Ecliptic. This is solid, classic BTBAM.
| |
his harsh vocals aren't the best in the game, but they definitely are not bad.
| |
This is like metalcore Crack the Skye if I may be so bold. Very well written and executed song, excited for the new album
| |
When this band uses harsh vocals it's like: ''oh time for the obligatory screaming part here''
| |
Really love how the song comes full circle in the last minute or so, cool song.
Also, Tommy sounds fine.
| |
Oh this is way better than I expected. The heavy parts are great.
| |
Not bad at all
| |
His screams sound way better than I expected. They were awful on Coma Ecliptic and a little hit and miss when I saw them live on that tour. Though he did sound better for the Colors tour, he just can't go as hard as he used to.
| |
Also god damn the guitars on this sound so good. The heavy part at like 2:30 like god damn. I did not expect such a return to form.
| |
move ya facking heads bois
| |
Tommy's best vocals are definitely on Alaska; he actually has some great range on that record. Ever since he's been fairly monotonous.
| |
This is extremely encouraging. And I couldn't disagree about his vocals. They have only gotten better with age.
| |
Instruments are great. Vocals are bleh, but I've heard worse.
| |
well this is way better than expected
| |
eh.
| |
Arrangement of song is promising, enjoy the production on this too.
| |
defintely better on second listen, we'll see.
| |
I hear it takes 45 listens to truly grasp the marvel of a BTBAM single
| |
only 42 more listens to go
| |
Still loving how the track comes full circle, that last minutes or so really is beautiful.
| |
Aaaaand as usual, Tommy's voice ruins it for me. Seriously, the guy's vocals are just fucking weak. The rest of the song is pretty boring/standard fare for BTBAM too imo. I'm hoping for the best with the full album release, obviously, but I'm not expecting much. These guys can never seem to put out a solid, cohesive album all the way through.
| |
"Vocals have only gotten better with age" [3]
| |
This is growing on me quite a bit
| |
Man y'all giving wayyyyyyyyyyyyy too much shade on the vox, they aren't bad at all. Great song!
| |
Vocals aren’t amazing, not the reason I listen to this band in all honesty
| |
Good song but I wish they didn't feel the need to implement clean vocals into every single song they do now
| |
They have had clean vocals in almost every LP they released...
| |
Clean vocals are usually utilised quite a lot by these guys
| |
They use clean vocals way more now than they did on say Alaska and Colors... and when they did it on those albums it was like a compliment to the music and not the driving force like it is at the end of this song
| |
Great throwback to their best albums with this song!
| |
Its definitely obvious that he has damaged his voice in some way. Both his voice screams and singing sound weaker and more strained but still somehow better than Coma Ecliptic which is the first time I found his voice to be obnoxious and unpleasant. I think he's solid on pretty much every other record.
I've listened to this like 20 times and it honestly did get better the more I processed it. I really hope the rest of this album can live up to this song.
| |
Well... Blot is 10 minutes long and on part 2 theres a song that is 13 minutes long so, it might live up
| |
This slaps. And Tommy sounds fine to me.
| |
Yawn
| |
this is pretty generic, they guys are capable of so much more.
| |
okay so I perhaps derailed the thread lol
I have no problem with his cleans, they are quite versatile. I particularly like the weird effects he may use or when he tries to sing goofy on purpose
Fossil Genera starts out so good and could've been some weird shit but goes into the usual monotone screams.
In that song towards the end you will hear the talent he has with his sung vocals but I have always felt like he never was able to use bc you know, metal and shit.
| |
Tommy's vocals constantly get worse with each new release so anyone saying they seem damaged doesn't seem off to say. He had a much deeper growl Alaska/Colors and his cleans were nowhere near as nazily as they are now. That being said, dig the track.
| |
Why are half of you saying that you are surprised with this song and the vocals?
The last album was literally just a side project and BTBAM said they are just toning it down for that album.
As for this new song its really good, classic BTBAM and love the inclusion of the BLEGH!
Looking forward to this album.
| |
Glad to hear them going back to their older/heavier sound a bit.
