hopefully it'll be better than the last album
| |
the new tracks are good, wish they had a proper release, as singles at least.
| |
Lets hope it’s better than Humanz and there isn’t a feature on every fucking song.
| |
gorillaz was always a colaborative effort between Damon and plenty of other artists. If you don't like heavy ft. albums Gorillaz is a band you shouldn't listen to.
| |
You shouldn't listen to gorillaz in the first place
| |
I'll always give them a chance. Can't beat Demon Days, though.
| |
i like a lot of songs in Humanz
sue me
| |
If there is one proper bass line in one of the songs it will be better than the whole humanz album
| |
"gorillaz was always a colaborative effort between Damon and plenty of other artists. If you don't like heavy ft. albums Gorillaz is a band you shouldn't listen to."
this is certainly true, but there was almost always enough time for Damon's talent as a vocalist and songwriter to shine in the previous albums. Humanz pretty much felt like a mixtape of a bunch of different hip-hop artists all rolled together. It wasn't bad for the most part but I would've liked to have had Gorillaz in it.

Humanz in a nutshell.
| |
Nice, I'll be looking forward to this. I was mixed on Humanz, but I've warmed up to it a bit since it first came out.
| |
Does everyone just forget that Plastic Beach had a feature on nearly every song and several tracks without Albarn's voice or what?
| |
[2] for real
| |
Plastic Beach still has more tracks with Albarn prominently singing on them, and it's not as convoluted, long and unfocused as Humanz. So no, sloppy comparison.
| |
"and it's not as convoluted, long and unfocused as Humanz. So no, sloppy comparison."
ok see, there's an argument
and actually Plastic Beach only has 9 songs Albarn prominently sings on, Humanz has 7 which isn't that far off (and in total his vocals appear on 16 of the songs). The real difference in these albums is the songwriting, not the presense of Albarn's voice.
| |
Please don’t
| |
How about you make like a tree and fuck off?
| |
damn that teaser sounds tasty
| |
"Virtual band" good way to describe it.
| |
I heard this is official now and has a release date soon although I forget what it was
| |
Yeah the official release date is the same one in the article
| |
it's june 26, apparently
| |
A 6 is just an upside down 9 so same thing
| |
3 days off? fuck they already started delaying it
cunts
| |
it had always been the 29th afaik, where did you hear 26th?
| |
lmao just taking the piss
| |
Glad to see this happening. Humanz had a few good tracks, but it put so much focus on the guest spots that it felt like a collaborative project that Damon Albart slapped the Gorillaz name on, an the songwriting was lacking throughout. Couldn't hear Holywood but Idaho is a good sign of things to come.
| |
yes i cant wait to 1 it
| |
Leak alert boiz

| |
got muted almost immediately but i got in quick enough
| |
Both new Singles are dope af, hype!
| |
also the new video is pretty cute.

| |
Humility was soooooo GOOD. Really cute video too.
| |
Yeah the new vid is awesome and I love both songs they put out recently
Here's Lake Zurich if y'all ain't heard that one yet, it's largely instrumental but I think I like it even more than Humil
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68JpPpSc7bs
| |
weeee
| |
ok so Lake Zurich is the track from the teaser site
| |
Lake Zurich was sweet too. Hopefully this isn’t gonna be another Humanz situation where the singles rule but the rest of the album is meh.
| |
well we already know that both Hollywood and Idaho are also good songs so I'd say it's quite unlikely that's the case
| |
i'm pretty sure this album is gonna be way more "Gorilaz-centric" than Humanz cause they've got a whole new storyline thing going on with Murdoc in jail and a new guy replacing him, as well as something about a cartel
| |
That dude is Ace from the Powerpuff Girls. apparently that's canon...
| |
that's so fucking cool. is it actually canon, tho
| |
that makes it like 100x better even if it's not
| |
I can't find any official sources, but I've seen a couple of articles, yeah. It's Ace from the Gangreen Gang from PPG.

| |
yesss
| |
Both of the songs are great. Glad they are distancing themselves from the shitfest that is Humanz.
| |
they must've learned from the mistake of overhyping humanz and just dropped the release date real quick
| |
you guys must not have heard the other songs yet ? up on the youtubes
| |
oh i have mate
| |
these tracks are next level
| |
loved Humility
| |
other songs? the bootlegs from recent shows you mean? or has some shit leaked
| |
atm there are live versions of Hollywood, Idaho and Tranz on YT.
Haven't heard of any leaks, tho.
