Porcupine Tree shared another new song, 'Herd Culling (Single Edit)', from the band's forthcoming eleventh album Closure/Continuation, out June 24th 2022. You can stream it below.

Steven Wilson comments: "Lyrically, 'Herd Culling' is about a very specific event in history, but it also deals with the broader theme of paranoia in the modern age - someone or something is coming up your driveway or in your front garden, and their/its motives are unclear."

Tracklist:
1. Harridan
2. Of The New Day
3. Rats Return
4. Dignity
5. Herd Culling
6. Walk The Plank
7. Chimera's Wreck

Excited to listen when it isn’t the middle of the night , tho I’m sure middle of the night tree is fairly based.

Yeah, as a single-edit this cut is pretty under baked. Here's hope the 7 minute album version has more going on. Not a bad groove though

Agreed, hopefully the full version has some more substance.

This is my least favorite of the singles so far, but I'm still excited to hear the whole thing.

nothing really sounds bad from the album so far but its just like ive heard it all before. I guess I was hoping for another reinvention of the Porcupine tree sound but no

I find Wilson is the weakest point of the band by far.

Agreed, weakest single yet...

I love PT but this album is sounding like their version of vanilla.

So far I too am not that excited for this album tbh. Boring songs. Dissappointment of the year incoming? I hope not

The singles are pretty good but sounds been there done that, like another The Incident but without the album concept kind of unifying everything, but more just standard Porcupine Tree brands of prog/alt. rock and metal. Most of the songs being on the longer side and my faith in the band makes me think it could still be great.

I like The Incident a lot too, but their formula was getting kind of predictable by then as well. Pretty sure Steven said something along those lines as a reason he decided to pursue his solo career at that point.

he’s projecting his own paranoia and feeling smug about it
can’t stand this talented nonce

Yeah I prefer when he didn't used to preface all of his singles/albums with super obvious or borderline cringy write-ups. He started doing that around the middle of his solo career. It's better left speaking for itself most of the time.
