Wow, the song is... really good?
| |
Kinda Peace Sells meets Cryptic Writings. Solid
| |
Really solid stuff, just like Dystopia. Stoked for this.
| |
zzz

3. Night Stalker (feat. Ice T)
| |
Dave sounding surprisingly not like total shit, maybe that throat cancer scare back in 2019 forced him to put a little less strain than usual on his upper register or sth
Still tho riffs are kinda meh and that chorus is laughable, plus the video description has a link shilling their NFT discord so uhh new album's gonna be a hard pass from me lol
| |
Gotta admit, this kinda smacks
| |
Why do some bands release either the first or the last song of the album as a single? Completely ruins the album experience.
Boring song.
| |
Pretty good song, Dave sounds good.
| |
It's alright i guess
The verses sound like a copy paste from Good Mourning / Black Friday
| |
"Why do some bands release either the first or the last song of the album as a single? Completely ruins the album experience."
I would much prefer the first track to the final one, and, at least imo the first track makes sense from the perspective of the band. If a "single" is supposed to give you the first impression of the album it's promoting, why not start with literally the first cut?
| |
The lead single belongs between tracks 2 and 5 the way god INTENDED
| |
HYPED and havnt even heard it.
| |
This is a bit of a slapper, Dave is killing it.
| |
Song is alright, chorus is a bit dumb though. Verses are definitely way too similar to Good Mourning/Black Friday too
| |
Solid track. Dystopia was solid too so I'm looking forward to this for sure.
| |
— riffs are kinda meh
Not a fan of the rhythm guitar riff either.
Overall, track is good though.
| |
this was fine, expected as much or maybe slightly more given the level of the personnel on this one
| |
Forget the song actually, why is Ice T a feature???
| |
this is better than any song on dystopia but that ain't saying much
| |
Feels like this is the best track they’ve released in a long time, unfortunately that’s not saying much. So yeah, decent stuff, but too many leads and honestly, with a little care, the riffs could be so much better. I did like the chorus though. Pre-releasing the last track of an album is a total no-go for me though.
| |
It sure is a Megadeth song in 2022. Dirk Verbeuren doing the drums is the best part about this.
| |
hello me, meet the real me
| |
Spicy take here but I like it when bands release the last song as a single, having something familiar at the end of a first of listen to an album to retain attention can work.
| |
why put an exclamation mark into this particular album title lol, so stupid
| |
It's a very Mustaine thing to do, edgy old dude haha.
| |
Way better than I expected it to be. Best song they've put out in a decade.
| |
Breath of fresh air that this isn’t an abysmal mess
| |
awesome tune very promising
| |
"Forget the song actually, why is Ice T a feature???"
maybe because Ice-T is in a very successful metal band and Dave guested on one of their albums
| |
black sabbath made it cool to feature ice-t so why not feature him right
| |
also decent tune
| |
The tune is rockin, agreed.
| |
@heck ah yeah, Body Count.
Makes a little more sense then, haha.
| |
The chorus is kinda lame, but the rest was 🔥
| |
Sweet, won't check
| |
not missing much
| |
the album art is so fucking bad.
| |
I actually really enjoy the new album art and the last one. VERY video gamey. Song is sick and made me recheck dystopia and remember how much I enjoyed that one
| |
if by video gamey you mean like bargain bin PS2 then yea
| |
Pretty good.
| |
"the album art is so fucking bad"
Okay but this has been true of literally every single Megadeth album cover ever?
| |
Soild tune.
| |
sfsgsw is one of the sickest album covers ever
| |
the album art is so fucking bad.
welcome to post-'86 Megadeth
| |
what kinda alestorm ass art is that
| |
Song sounds like every other Megadeth song from the last 15 years. I probably would have loved this when I was 14 and first listening to metal.
That album name is pretty tasteless so soon after a global pandemic.
| |
The last minute or so is good though
| |
Better than expected, for sure
| |
Quite solid, I liked it.
| |
Sounds like thrash.
That is my entire commentary.
| |
Damn Dave's transformation into Rocky Dennis is nearly complete. Song kind of smacks though.
| |
hello me, meet the real me
| |
song is fine, sounds like every megadeth song ever written and then processed into one song by an AI generator. 3:30 and onward is pretty cool, but hiring steve digioirgio on bass but then having his mix practically inaudible should be a felony offense.
kinda expecting another 3.3 album
| |
The man fought cancer to continue to do what he loves. Your opinions don't mean a damn thing.
Track kicks ass, I'm glad Dave is healthy again. That track with Ice T sounds interesting.... Maybe a Body Count thing?
| |
pretty fitting username there bro
cover art might also be megadeth's all-time worst. looks like some Assassin's Creed shit
| |
"The man fought cancer to continue to do what he loves. Your opinions don't mean a damn thing."
hello me, meet the real me
| |
Dave really decided to copy Disposable Heroes at 3:30-4:00 lol
| |
black friday verses anyone?
| |
Massively.
| |
"Okay but this has been true of literally every single Megadeth album cover ever?"
nah, Rust in Peace and Peace Sells bro.
| |
Impressive!
| |
"nah, Rust in Peace and Peace Sells bro."
Honestly do not think either of those albums have especially good album art, definitely less egregious than most of their post-youthanesia art tho
| |
so far so good so what art goes hard, rest is basically shit yeah
| |
Am I the only one who is a little underwhelmed?
| |
no. vocal editing is painful, riffs are stale but it's actually thrash so it's getting points for hurdling the low bar.
| |
It does get better on repeated listens. Nothing really grabbed me like their lead single from Dystopia did.
| |
Dave is a pretty big dummy but the song slaps.
Dystopia was p good so hype is there for the album.
| |
Solid track, the solos definitely rip
| |
Dystopia's title track was the best thing they released since '90, this one's not
| |
Its a wannabe Good Morning/ Black Friday and Hanger 18's inbred child. I liked the riffing at the end. Kiko's solos are kinda meh.
| |
nice
| |
y'all are so negative. song is good, album art is good.
| |
Feels a bit familiar but still meets the high standards of Megadeth.
| |
They borrow from themselves quite heavily, but I really don´t mind. I love the (amount of) solos and the old school vibe. The only gripe with it is the lack of memorable riffs. But anyway, pretty pumped for the new album. Hope it won´t be their last...
| |
hello me, meet the real me
| |
The sound is very well produced, but the hooks and melodies are not really memorable. Sounds like something out of "siri, write a metal song with lots of solos".
| |
Pretty Much, but at least they still got the energy
| |
New single is pretty good, minus the strange Ice T feature.
| |
Wow the new song really is great. I agree on the Ice T feature being kind of odd. At least it's pretty short.
| |
It's excusable, rest of the track is classic Mustaine riffage.
| |
