"fully abandon their original slam roots"
There's still a touch in there, but yeah this is disappointing. Now they sound like a dozen other Shore-core bands. Woo.

I'll be honest, I thought the way they joined those two styles was always slightly wonky. Think them just removing that aspect might be a touch lazy, but I always thought they did the black metal portions better anyways

Wintersun vibes, hell yeah.
Okay, coming back to edit because this went to some not very Wintersun places. Never heard this band, what a wild genre pairing
|
| |
I dig the folk metal vibes going on here. I wouldn't be surprised if it'd been done before, but I've never heard somebody blend symphonic metal, folk metal, black metal, and deathcore before

they fired the buff dude? poor marketing decision but this song is good at least.

"Now they sound like a dozen other Shore-core bands. Woo."
This sounds almost nothing like LS imo. And it fucking slays. Their slam stuff always turned me off so them leaning hard into the more interesting elements of their sound is exciting. New vocalist is very good too.

This def sounds like LS midway through Symphony with that breakdown lol. That said, this is a good ole fun time
|
| |
The breakdown is the obligatory shitty deathcore moment and similar to LS sure, but otherwise this is a very different take on the style imo.
|
| |
Great song just ditch the stupid lorna shore breakdown.
|
| |
This song is kind of awesome

| |
There’s a shift in style that they fit perfectly well with the new vocalist. Blackened death metal/Deathcore still, but they are displaying a further growth I definitely vibe with.

Man this new Wintersun song is great, nice to see Jari finally deliver on his promises after so many years.
