They could be considered deathcore in 2005 but not 2023.

I love Wretched! If we're counting them as deathcore, then they'd be way up there too. On even ground with the aforementioned groups. Seems like they pretty much rid themselves of all core influence on Cannibal though. They‘ve always seemed to me as a group that played straight up melodeath and thrash death riffs, just with the occasional breakdown part.

This is dope! Love the solo and excited to hear more. Didn't realize this was the guy from Wretched. Saw them open for Cannibal Corpse years back and they were great live. Only really jammed their first two albums but they're pretty solid

Hell yeah! Despised Icon, Waking the Cadaver, Beneath the Massacre.. and now Glass Casket.

Not long ago I rediscovered the extreme metal genres for myself and was filled with joy when I found out that all these bands had returned in the meantime. Love it.

Now I'm hoping for a reunion and new albums of The Red Chord and Animosity

I'm pretty sure The Red Chord is one of those situations like Job For a Cowboy where eventually life happened and everyone just naturally stopped with the band. E.g. I think the vocalist for Red Chord is a full-time police officer, and the vocalist for JFAC went to school for a comp sci degree and multiple members started families. I think in both cases they haven't ruled out new music ever, but it might be a hot minute. Which is a shame because Fed Through the Teeth Machine and Sun Eater were some of their finest works respectively.

As for Animosity, we have Entheos which has both Navene and Evan in some capacity, so that may be the closest we get. Good thing Entheos is sick

"I think the vocalist for Red Chord is a full-time police officer"

That's true. He's actually a detective in a special victims unit and I'm not even joking.
