Party hard! Party hard! Party hard! Come on man, let’s party hard!
If you have an attitude other then this when listening to any Andrew W.K. album, then just don’t listen really. Andrew W.K. is the party hardiest rocker to grace the Earth. Classically trained in the piano (that’s right ladies!), Mr. W.K.’s first record, “I Get Wet”, is a fun, upbeat time. The metal riffs the guitar produce oddly work well with both the piano and Andrew W.K.’s rough voice.
“Party Hard” is arguably the musicians most known song and with good reason. The riffs and piano bounce off each other and Andrew talks about working all day and at night is when the party starts. That’s all there is to Andrew W.K.’s music yet it’s still a great listen each and every time. The use of backup vocals are taken advantage of a lot throughout “I Get Wet”.
“Girls Own Love” is essentially half Andrew singing and half chanting backup vocals. The anthemic
“Ready To Die” makes me want to dance like a silly mother f*cker despite the slightly morbid name. The review said before that Andrew’s voice was rough and it truly is. It’s as if W.K. actually sucked while smoking the MJ out of a foil bong. Oddly enough though, he is extremely catchy and doesn’t get old.
“Party ‘Til You Puke” shows that the best as he is absolutely relentless with the vocals. Yes, “I Get Wet” is repetitive. Yes, the music is simple. Yes, this is still great no matter what and awesome stuff to throw a party to if you don’t like the bangin’ techno beats of a club.
