Review Summary: Sailing The Seas Of Cheese, defiantly one that features all that Primus are worth and what they try to deliver in the music

Primus: Sailing The Seas Of Cheese / Rock.

Les Claypool: Bassist/Lead Singer
Larry LaLonde: Guitar
Tim Alexander: Drums

Seas Of Cheese - 00:42: 5/5
This song really opens the album well... quick (only 00:42) has the ships in the background, which sets the mood so well.

Here Come The Bastards - 02:54: 3/5
Not my favoirite most loved Primus song, very repetitive at the start, but then around the 1:40 - 2:00 minute mark it breaks this and the Drum & Guitar kick in really well, Les has a really good voice for how they titled the song, not an emotion voice like screaming or anything like that, really plain and straight which suits the song title.

Sgt. Baker - 04:16: 3.5/5
As all Primus songs, they start the song off "weird", although most of there music is weird... but this one is really well done with the drumming on the hi-hats & cymbals, then Tim smack's the snare and the song really starts with there hard bass & guitar lines and crazy drum playing!

American Life - 04:32 3/5
Les doesnt hesitate with this one on going straight in with a powerful bass line, although the same bass line is continued through the song, thats how Primus roll! Im not a big fan of the lyrics in this song, kind of hard to hear over the bass line...

Jerry Was a Race Car Driver - 03:10: 4.5/5
Love the intro to this song, how they start it and how much it fits with the title is Superb, I have heard when they played this live that Les played the car effect on his bass, Not sure if he does on the album though, great song!

Eleven - 04:19: 3/5
I love this drum's at the start with the unique sound, but I think Les wrecks it when he comes in with his bass, way over the top... lucky enough the recover back in the song and end it great!

Is It Luck? - 03:27: 5/5
My favorite song on this album, love the guitar work by Larry, and the lyrical work is so awesomely unique. Drum's are good aswell, nice quick beats, the whole song is actually quite fast, most likely the fastest song on there album

Grandad's Little Ditty - 00:37: 2/5
Not a big fan of this song, lyrics are hard to hear, refers back to the cheese again just like the Intro song but the music isn't sweet to the ear's unfortunately.

Tommy The Cat - 04:15: 5/5
Love the intro to this song on drum's, the guitar is also quite good, I believe he pulls some power cords? correct me if im wrong, bass as per usual, awesome. Lyrics are quite unique in this song once again, and would compete with Is It Luck? for the title of the fastest track!

Sathington Waltz - 01:42: 2.5/5
Another weird Priums song, what Primus do best... no lyrics is this, repetitive from all instruments except the guitar? I'm not to sure

Those Damned Blue-Collar Tweekers - 05:19: 4/5
Being the second longest song on the album they don't go all out for it in the whole song, there are some repetitive parts, but there are some out bursts, then goes back to that calm repetitive tune, drums & guitar stand out in the repetitive parts & the bass in the out bursts parts, great song overall

Fish On (Fisherman Chronicles, Chapter II) - 07:45: 5/5
Awesome song, great guitar Introduction, nice mellow song, I personally love this song, quite a slow tempo song, gradually getting quicker, but not with all of the instruments at once, but around the 04:56 mark there is a awesome burst of all instruments.

Los Bastardos - 02:38: 3/5
I think they made the wrong decision with this song, they should have ended with Fish On last on the album, great song to end the album, but, its Primus, what can you do?

This album kicks ass.

In the future, with your reviews, try straying from the typical track by track formats. The stellar reviews are generally the ones that aren't so structured and typical. This Message Edited On 11.26.06

Primus sucks!

I love this album. Me and my girlfriend always get down with Tommy.
