| Also, sorry about the double post. Didn't think it'd do that. D:
| Hi! A few years ago, you posted on the Shadow of the Colossus soundtrack Roar of the Earth saying that you could give people the sheet music. I was wondering if you could let me see it. This would be very helpful for me as I'm trying to help arrange a video game medley for my band and would love to include at least one song from Shadow of the Colossus. I hope you see this since it's been a while since your last activity. Thank you for your time!
| GiaNXGX excellent work on Schnittke, man.
| fr33convict Awesome. Definitely a lot more thought went into writing it this time around. And I'm so happy people are picking up on the vocal improvements haha. These are still just demos and everything was done on the first take so hopefully it'll sound even better when we step into the studio.
| fr33convict Hey dude can I send you a link to some of the new Golgatha demos we've made? We're trying to get some feedback on our new direction and the songs in general before we go in to record and based off your rating you liked our last EP. Plus I figured if there was one place I could get unbiased feedback it would be on Sputnik. :]
| Comatorium. Im just happy i got them for myself and that someone else could get some enjoyment out of them.
| Comatorium. Ballad- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4FpgFopQWU sorry about my ridiculously loud "TAKE A ****ING FLIGHT" in there.
| Comatorium. I liked the rock arrangement, but its my absolute favorite song by him, i kinda just wanted him doing it. i didnt recognize it either at first haha... anyways... photosynthesis: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_2cyUaKGvE ballad and the others forthcoming
| Comatorium. I lied, its his 3 encores. wish I had gotten somebody to love. s*** was great.
| Comatorium. Im uploading some video from the show, I'll throw the link from my channel up here after I get em uploaded. I have from AJJ about 5 songs, and from Frank I have everything after Queen, which I believe is Thunder Road, Ballad, and Photosynthesis
| Comatorium. It was a great show man. I was the fat guy in the Elton John shirt, if you saw me at some point hahah. The only gripe I have was I kinda wish he had played Queen solo instead of with the band.
| Comatorium. Ottobar tomorrow! Gonna be so ****ing good! I've never met someone from sputnik haha... we should chat.
| patroneyes where can i find a download of Liszt's Transcendental Etudes played by V. Ovchinnikov? they're absolutely fantastic.
| Jethro42 Take a look at this, dude;
http://www.blazemonger.com/GT/ Lots of pretty cool stuff in there. If ever you take it, let me know what you think. http://www.filestube.com/658621587c6f40a903e9,g/Giant-Tracks-A-Tribute-to-Gentle-Giant-Varied-D2.html
| Jethro42 Man, thank you for this. You make my day, I love me some meditative moments like this. Delightful.
| TheSpirit It's an untitled album by an unnamed band referred to only by it's catalog number RH-01. It was released by this label called Rhinocervs who values music over the artist so a good majority of their releases never credit the artists. It's really good though, it sounds very much inspired by the Black Legions scene from France.
| TheSpirit Listen to Defaced Creation. They only have one album but it rules. I think you'll like it a lot.
| Hawks Good s*** man, thanks.
| Hawks I haven't heard that one yet, but I've been meaning to check it out.
| Ire ayo progger
| relativeworld I recently watched another great semi-short-flick called " a country doctor " based on Kafka's short story with the same title, directed by Yammamura , you may like it, too , I ll try to find "Hedgehog in Fog" , thanks for mentioning!
| DeafMetal Hey bro, mind if I ask where you heard Fallen at? Send me the link if you can.
| DarkNoctus sure, hook me up with an email to send it to
| Jethro42 Check this out: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/bands/Mans-Gin/22753/
| Jethro42 I really enjoyed that pop song and I'm very opened for any foreign lyrics 'cause music counts above all. brw Next ProgJect one is almost done. I'll send it to Nag tomorrow in the evening, so if everything goes well it's gonna be on the map wednesday morning. This time it's gonna be that sympho prog British band (with strong elements of folk and classical music); http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YoBq4NsWcI Band is full of incredible melodies and arrangements. Enjoy one of those!
| Jethro42 As I see you listening to Blackmore's, I'm tempted to leave you the best of them I have in my comp. (all found one by one on LimeWire, long ago). 'Wish you were here', 'Written in the Stars', 'Waiting just for you', 'Fires at Midnight', 'Hanging Tree', 'No Second Chance', 'Something', 'Spirit of the Sea', 'Way to Mandalay', 'Wind Dance of the Fairies', 'Now and then', 'Planxty', 'Play Minstrel Play' and the poppish 'I love you'. Try band Mostly Autumn too.
| Jethro42 I forgot to thank you for showing me Wyatt stuff. I'll take a look to both Comicopera and Shleep wich obtain appreciable ratings. Cheers, man.
| Jethro42 There's a recall for you on the Laughing Stock thread =P
| Jethro42 Man, do yourself a favor and check 'Bubu' out, it has a fresh new review at the front page. Their music is so... go get it!
| Inveigh awesomeeeee thanks so much dude!
| Inveigh fair enough man, I get that. though I definitely don't think the review seemed too reactionary or anything. hey, since I see it in your last.fm... did you find a leak of it somewhere???
| Inveigh why'd you take down the Ulcerate review man?
| Jethro42 I pretty much like that kind of mood. For some reasons, it reminds me of that, even if the correlations are thin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGHwWwQw3tc annnnnd; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPuxrLAbONk
| Jethro42 Dammit it doesn't work, so there is my plug; Mahavishnu Orchestra - Visions of the Emerald (last ProgJect one). Listen to its opener: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4K1VxNg9Bc
| Jethro42 woops, it didn't show up, I redo http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?reviewid=41115
| Jethro42 Gryphon offers some passages I'd want to hear forever, and some others I wish I've never heard. That being said, I might give this another chance for I didn't listen to it carefully. Same for your Wyatt' rec. Both are obviously growers...'harder to digest' prog. Here's a plug of mine for you, with a song to enhance it: http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?reviewid=41115
| wyankeif1337 if you end up liking Panopticon get entire Wolves In the Throne Room discog. dead srs
| Jethro42 I mean, mediafire is a bitch for me.
| Jethro42 about your cover arts, I did try to upload The strawb' one and failed for some reasons. And for the Tull' one, it's 'Thick as a Brick'. But you know the risk it represents to edit a list; you can lose some other cover arts, isn't it. also I'd like to know how to dl the band 'Anyone' - s/t from mediafire, for example. Thanks!
| Jethro42 HA! You've already known that, I see, I see. Band is pretty unique. Happy new year, bud. Best wishes, plenty of music gigs and keep the good work up here on Sputnik!
| Jethro42 I can't help but giving you this link: Listen at 5:47 (song is all great) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XIlG0TmxzTs
| Jethro42 This rec of yours comes like a reminder! I've been meaning to check his discog out since a while. Thanks man, I'll let you know what I think!
| DeafMetal Wow, dude sounds like a loser. What kind of band are you looking to get into now with the organ?
| DeafMetal That's awesome man, the organ's a pretty cool instrument, although I never really ****ed with it myself. What's your band like?
| Jethro42 Have you heard these out of the short lived Wakeman's era: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rrQvfpwCJQ annnd: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XA7DBXr7V1k Also, major props for your Harmonium' plays.
| Irving Right on. In that case, all the best for all three of your endeavors: school, completing the review, and the piano recital. Will catch you around this site sometime soon =)
| Irving Vanderbob, haven't seen you review in a bit. Get on that s*** =)
| Sowing and by shot i mean shout
| Sowing thanks man, i was surprised actually. last promotions they announced it via the weekly blog, so i was a little shocked when i got on and i was suddenly a contributor and had a shot from jom. lol.
| Jethro42 I'm really glad to know you love it. Imaginary Voyage, Enigmatic Ocean and Cosmic Messenger are as great as Mystical Adventures, so enjoy! Also, I fixed what you've pointed out, thanx again!
| Jethro42 Here are some interesting excerpts from 'Mystical Adventures' suite. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eyS3uLXqrW8 and this, Cheers! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l49LyLC8q-Q
| Jethro42 It's a pleasure, you know. I suggest you 'From the Witchwood' next. I have to say I dunno that album, but it's their last one with Wakeman, it's very well rated. 'Grave New World', 'Bursting at the Seams', 'Hero and Heroine' and 'Ghost' contains so much GEMS. Also, never forget Fiori-Seguin, the Harmonium frontman side ptoject. Enjoy!
| Jethro42 It makes me happy to see you digging Harmonium, being given it's a band of my hometown.
| Jethro42 Damn straight man!..I have to bookmark this, thanx!! Also, why didn't you rate 'Program Music 1' yet?
| Jethro42 Hey vander, buddy. Can you remember on what thread you gave to me some incredible classical piano links, not so long ago? There were your fav classical piece, plus one of your fav(Russian I think)pianist...
| Hawks No problem bro. The second album is even better IMO.
| Hawks Good s*** man. Both of their albums are awesome.
| Hawks Have you by any chance listened to Winterfylleth?
| McCopper Hey, I dropped you a friend request on last.fm, hope you don't mind.I'm Mournheim.
| Fapper I'm glad I asked, that is a really neat animation. Gonna watch part 2 and 3 now haha
| Fapper What's your profile picture of? It's pretty sick
| RandomDuck Thanks for the advice, its definetely useful.
| Bitchfork go to my second most recent list and download my split with witchxrapist and listen USING THE CORRECT TRACKLISTING (DENOTED IN THE LIST SUMMARY). I'd like to see your opinion.
| Jethro42 Bursting Out, typo 2nd paragraph: '...flute playing...
| NeutralThunder12 lemme ask you something, I see you're in high school (like me). Don't you ever see these stupid kids, with their cruddy band t shirts, and their ridiculously sophomoric views on music and life itself, and all you think is "Wow, I have such a better taste in music than you"?
| bailar12 worry not. enrique is jus stirring up some controversey.
| Jethro42 sup brah, I invite ya to take a look at the Horslips' page. I'm not done with the whole thing yet, I'll add the rest somewhere in the week end. Have a good one, cheers!
| Jethro42 Your allusion to Emerson was pretty accurate btw. I just added ELP into 'Similar Bands' on Rick Wakeman's page.
| Jethro42 Kudos! As I expected, very good work on The Six Wives. The only gripe is your summary. It looks like Wakeman would be the only musician, you see. Also, I am to prepare something else than The Myths and Legends, but it will immediately follow. Cheers man, and happy back-to-school!
| Jethro42 No way man, I give up. You got an excellent idea for your 50th. I don't want to spoil your fun. Plus I'm very certain that a 2nd one after yours would become an unnecessary review. So yes, go ahead with Bursting Out. My head is full of other projects.
| Jethro42 ProgJect aim to cover what is not yet reviewed, so I'd only provide one if you haven't done it before me. Also if you are 100% inspired to do Bursting Out, I greatly prefer to do something else, to avoid a 'non necessary review'. Thanx for your approval though, mate.
| Jethro42 I was expecting to eventually cover Bursting Out under the ProgJect account. Would it bother you, honestly?
| Jethro42 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Lf3WP_S7Ek
Here's a short and sweet example.
| Jethro42 WoW That Kashmir cover is insane. You mean Ann Boleyn?..Well I tip my hat if you can cover it, bro. Do you play the keys too? For ELP, start with their debut s/t one. Then Tarkus. Studio version is more than 20 min long of epicness.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AH4LAitSXCM
| Jethro42 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xN1ZxRMuMt4
sup man. They'are more tight on studio version, but it's alright.
| Jethro42 I'll answer for Nag. 'Flagged' means a review being placed in the first place, over the other ones. Don't ask me about the settling, I have no clue.
| Jethro42 Whoa!...You put two other reviews on the map...oh wait!
| Jethro42 That's awesome man, be prepared for a lot of fun!! Wakeman is a very good school, for sure.
| Jethro42 Hells yeah! That's Tull at the top of their game. Setlist and songs rendition are more than satisfying. I'm glad you enjoy it, man. Also, you are a pianist, isn't it. Have you considered Rick Wakeman's prolific solo works? He also appears in some 'Strawbs'(prog folk) debut albums. My suggestion: 'Just a Collection of Antiques and Curios'. Cheers, buddy.
| BrysonialTheBison Anthema is amazing; thanks a lot for getting me into them :D I'm gonna' be an addicted person now lol :D ^_^ and it does help; it seems to be a great album for reflection :)
| Dylan620 I posted back to you at the Mezmerize thread
| FadeToBlack dude you need to get Nattens Madrigal (third Ulver album), its the pure embodiment of all things black metal
| FadeToBlack I think the ovalist on that Shape Of Despair album is the old Amorphis vocalist. At least he moved on to good bands ;)
| grungethrash91 holy s***, you prove that you cant post comments without doing it twice on accident because your a moron. i hate morons, so we are enemies fom this point on.
| NeutralThunder12 sup man. Saw your need for jazz recs. Check out mine, all great starter jazz albums, some of them are weird as s*** though. Again, this summer I'm making a username dedicated to ONLY jazz and jazz fusion and stuff like that, so if you ever need any more recs, you'll know where to find them. Good luck.
| MoosechriS yeah heard a couple of things with king diamond on before (Song off Dave Grohls Probot album
| MoosechriS cheers dude i'm hopefully in the next few weeks just gonna order the 3 dissection albums altogether. I've always heard good things about Mercyfull Fate just never checked them out suppose i should really (Lazy me :-s) I've heard wintersuns name mentioned before but have no idea what they sound like at all. Cheers for the recs though dude :)
| NeutralThunder12 its tough. He literally, over a 40 year period, changed genres every decade. If you want the more straightforward 'jazz' albums (bop jazz), the best ways to start are "Birth of the Cool", "Kind of Blue", "Round About Midnight" and "Porgy and Bess". For experimental Miles, AKA Weird but awesome s***, try "A Tribute to Jack Johnson", "In a Silent Way" or the ****ing weird ass but awesome "On the Corner". IMO, one of his best is "Sketches of Spain", try that if you want something gorgeous.
| NeutralThunder12 yeah man, Birth of the Cool has such a mood on it... even though I like his experimental stuff more, that one is excellent.
| heyadam I did like JC's version of "Hurt". Not as much as the original, but he did a great job with it. The music video added a lot to the emotion of the song
| heyadam Yeah I love metal but I also love almost every other type of music, except country and new rap.
| heyadam Yeah I'm a metalhead and I'm not even that into Pantera. But yeah Its not like I hate them or think that they weren't anything special, because thats just ignorance. They were one of the greatest bands to play, but just not my style lol
| heyadam haha I knew I'd get s*** for putting the Beatles on there. Do you have a band that you don't hate, but everyone around you just loves but you could never get into them? thats what the beatles are for me
